What would you recommend for a 10 year old girl?

She is a girl who loves animals and exploring and talking to the characters on friends game. She also explores and talks to animals in real life!

Nintendo switch - I def think the games are more gender neutral and animal crossing would be a good fit. Also the sports ring thingy looks great fun

Bunnymumy · 01/10/2020 20:45

I think at that age I would either stick with pc gaming or get a nintendo switch.

The later has animal crossing which she would probably enjoy.

Oh thank you that is good, it is not a hand held one then? We wanted one for the tv screen, thank you I will try animal crossing, thank you.

Definitely Animal Crossing on the Switch! You can get the normal Switch which plugs into the TV, or the Lite is £100 cheaper but handheld only.

Bikingbear · 14/10/2020 10:25

Actually I'd try and find out what her friends have. If they are all on xbox its easier to chat and play together on the same console.

Yes there is crossplay but its beyond me how it actually works - I got as far as reading log into the same serverConfused- so decide Xbox was the one the majority of his pals were on.

MiddleClassMother · 14/10/2020 10:29

Another vote for the switch, I even borrow DS' sometimesGrin

Kpo58 · 20/10/2020 09:06

A switch can be handheld, but also can link up to the TV.

TheHighestSardine · 23/10/2020 01:18

Nintendo Switch, definitely.

There are two models, the "Switch Lite" which is an all in one handheld-only machine, and the "Switch" which works on the TV as well.

You can tell the difference because the Switch has 'ears' that come off to make handheld controllers, while the Switch Lite is about £100 cheaper. Annoying really.

They play the same games.

Another vote for a Nintendo Switch. The games are aimed more at the younger generation.
You could maybe consider a laptop that will play some games also? Theres lots of simulator type games on there where she can build her own zoo or whatever (many of those games are quite retro though!)
