Thanks to whoever invited me to the giratina raid. Just gutted I couldn't catch it! Did get a Klink and a timburr in raids though. I really don't understand how some of you get so many shinies, I have only caught one all weekend!

I've just been looking at the Facebook group, reading everyone's comments about Go Fest - some very mixed responses! Anyway, someone had posted these promo codes. Hope they work, I haven't tried yet.

I have mixed feelings about the go fest ticket, I'm delighted I got so many good pokemons I didn't have before, but I felt there wasn't enough challenges for me.

After a very long gap and several name changes, I'm poking my head back in. After 4 years and reaching level 40 last year, I have game fatigue. It set in during the swampy flooded winter when the local woods which are the main hotspot for the game were just relentlessly soggy for 6 months... then lockdown...

Still playing casually. Not helped by having no mojo for running, rubbish batteries for my go plus and a duff investment in a gotcha that will not talk to my phone and just turns the bluetooth off.

Hopefully a bit of chat might perk my interest up a bit and stop me from ignoring the community Whatsapp messages

@HighBrows, yes me too, first three worked fine. I think I had already used the fourth one so it wouldn't work again.
@BogRollBOGOF if you post your trainer number, I will add you. It's been nice having so many MNers on my friends list.

My first attempt at coordinating an egg failed miserably (DS opened gift), but I thought I’d give it another go!

I’ll be happy to do it tomorrow during focus hour UK as I think a lot of you use it? If we all do it then it will be worthwhile for me, even though the focus hour would have finished here.

Enjoyed Saturday more than Sunday in the event, but was really glad they made it easier to beat the Rocket leaders than usual, as I was finally able to clear the Looming in the Shadows research which had been sitting there at stage 4 for months.

Only two shinies from the whole thing, but so glad to finally have an Unown.

@EggsScrambled I haven't posted my trainer number here as I think it's a bit suspect for a bloke to ask members of a mainly female website to become his friend. I have said in the past that if anybody is interested they can PM me and I will add them.

Saturday was good for my mental health, walking around with friends talking bollocks and not catching shinies. Sunday was a bit crap but not many people I know were around. Still enjoyed the event though, hope they do it again next year.

@bigchris - I have seen players moaning on fb and reddit that the Team Rocket Leaders and Giovanni were too easy to beat! Honestly, there's no pleasing some people - I'd have been gutted if I'd failed to beat them all and win the Legendaries. I've been a bit lost today without all the exciting raids and tasks to complete. I might need to really focus on my alt account on DH's phone. One thing I learnt from the Reddit threads is that people have been contacting Niantic Support about getting kicked out of remote raids when all their Pokemon fainted. Some of them have been refunded their remote raid passes - worth a try? (Not sure I can be bothered, also can't remember how many times it happened!) Also, people seemed to think that this only happens if you've used up your last remote raid pass - I'm not sure about this as I wasn't paying much attention to how many passes I had left. Anyway, sounds like Niantic are well aware of the issues, hopefully will get sorted out soon.

The team leader challenge needed to be easy so people could return to raiding and catching. Niantic did the right thing by nerfing them imo

If the people on Reddit wanted a challenge they should have done the task after Go Fest so it was normal difficulty.

I do feel sorry for Niantic sometimes, they can't win. It's the same with shiny rates, people complained about not enough shiny Pokemon over the weekend but then others say that if they're too common it devalues them.

I had a great time with Go Fest and think it was worth the ticket price I paid. All profits went to charity anyway. The only disappointing thing was the issues during friendship hour but I think they've announced they're doing a make up event for that.

Right i have got some eggs and decided that I am going to try and work out this friends thing to get a bit of an XP bonus!!!
I can see I am one day from going up a level with ToffeeHippo, PusheensPizza and GinLiker and you guys are holding the gift so if you can give me a heads up that is great.

DoctorTwo I wouldn't worry about gender - as there's no messaging in the game I feel it's quite a safe app that I am happy if my kids take the phone and can go and play unsupervised (but now strict instructions not to open gifts!!!). Yes there can be a bit of messaging outside the app like on here to coordinate eggs and raids but as it's indirect I am comfortable with it...

Dd was busy on Sunday so we spent yesterday trying to find and beat the leaders, would have been so much easier during gofest. Luckily she has three radars otherwise we’d have to do grunts too. I assumed that was why it was easier Sunday, if you wanted to complete it one day you needed all the components three times. It was still a lot of battling!

My only moan was that I had a fairly busy weekend and I couldn’t pay it enough attention, can only blame Niantic for being so tempting, I really wasn’t going to buy a ticket
I was hoping for some more raid passes as well, have a couple of really aggressive newbies round here so I’m finding it hard to earn any coins.
