Laptop for kids that can play roblox etc

We need another laptop in the house to get the kids off mine - have a budget of £400 but want to make sure it’ll have enough memory/power to play roblox, Minecraft etc or they’ll only be back on mine! Also want it to last for school work. I use macs but can’t afford another... so no idea about what laptop is best. Lenovo? Dell? Is 4GB enough? Thanks very much!

Can't recommend laptops but both my kids have Kindle Fires and play Roblox/Minecraft and use the school apps on those. Cheap too, so kids could have one each.

I've just had this and had to get one with 8GB as 4 would run the sims , roblox and minecraft while doing all the updates! And chromebooks dont work either!

Oh and ended up posting on facebook and local person did reconditioned laptops so got a Dell from him for £220 and it's been brilliant. She says roblox better on laptop as its different than on phone or tablet!

Thanks Bernadette... Have decided on a laptop rather than kindles as we will need one for their schoolwork anyway. Also want something more powerful than a chrome book. I just don’t know where to begin with the different laptop models in that price range...

Standard iPads are pretty good for this... both mine have them and the 17 year old does all her coursework on hers, you can even buy cheap wireless keyboards for them from Amazon if you wanted to. I’d never get a laptop again personally.

Ah that’s helpful so you reckon 8gb is necessary? In that case reconditioned is the way to go I will get searching... what model is your Dell?

It was a Dell E6430 and has windows 10. It's been great. I would ask on local Facebook site as loads of people recommended different people in the area that fixed and reconditioned laptops and answered all my questions and at least they are local if anything goes wrong.

Literally any laptop. The running requirements of roblox and Minecraft are tiny.

8gb of Ram is only necessary for playing sims 4. I believe roblox and Minecraft require 4gb but usually run fine on less than that.

Dd1 has 6gb on hers and runs the latest version of Minecraft without issue but can only play sims 4 when using lower quality settings.
