That is disappointing, Panama. I think it depends on the gym. some gyms are much busier than others. You might just need to find a different ex raid gym.

I’ve never really seen anyone at the one by my house. The ones in the city centre are really busy and where the local groups meet so it would be unusual to turn up and be the only one there.

There's also a board called Discord where people chat PoGo but I'm not on that so I don't know much.

Yeah, there's an ex raid gym near my house but no one ever goes to it! I'm gold on it just from having mons in there for weeks at a time. People round here don't seem to be bothering with taking gyms as much, at least my locals ones anyway. Kinda annoying as I'd like the coins!

Got a 'catch 3 dark' task at the moment, just as all the houndour and sneasel have disappeared. Grrr. I quite want to do it. I've also got 'catch a dragon type' which is impossible. And annoying as I caught a dratini at home just last week!

@JuniLoolaPalooza purrloins are dark type. There's a few sneasels around too.

Alolan Rattata are also dark types and common.

Long-time player checking in. I play daily but I’m getting annoyed at how limiting it is when I don’t know any other players in real life. Can’t do L4/5 gyms, can’t trade, can’t battle, can’t complete a ton of special research. Will have to set up a second account just to get some of those research tasks ticked off.

@JuniLoolaPalooza have you got a group you can do a giratina raid with? If so, that's a dragon. Also recommend whenever you complete that task you run away from it so that the dratini is sitting in your stack for when you next need to catch a dragon type.

Anybody else having trouble since the spawn points changed? I used to get a constant stream of 'mons at my house but hardly any now! I'm lucky if I get my 'first catch of the day' some days (at home with a baby and toddler at the moment)! There seem to be fewer pokemon around just in general!
Struggling with the "catch 50 psychic or steel type pokemon" as a result.

How does this World Tourism task work? I read a few articles about the trading Pokémon 10,000km apart task but I still don’t get it

It's bloody frustrating, isn't it! I used to have 7 spawn points I could reach from my house (some were a bit iffy, I'd be waving my phone in the corners of the kitchen) but now there's only two.
The nearest gym and Pokestops have all dropped spawn points; three Pokestops and only one spawn point.

The easiest way is to trade Pokémon hatched from eggs that come from gifts from 10,000 km away.
So for example, DS traded a Pokémon caught locally with one I'd hatched from an egg from a gift sent to me by a player in Australia.
Then this afternoon I traded a Pokémon hatched from a Vietnamese gift egg with another player who had one from a New York gift egg. Neither are 10,000 km from where we live but they are from each other.
It also helps if you have the research three times at once as it's a pain organising the trades and finding the right Pokémon.
Still don't have a shiny seviper though.

To trade you need to be friends with another player and physically within 100 metres of each other.
The trade will cost stardust. The cost varies depending on your friendship level, and whether you both already have the Pokémon registered in your Pokédex.

Hi all! I started playing about a month or so ago, not long, but am already at level 25. I'm learning as I go- I don't usually play games so am surprised how hooked I've got on it. I play a bit with my 2 closest friends. Am trying not to spend too much money on balls!

@BaronessBomburst So does that mean say if I hatched an egg from a gift from South Korea, I can trade that Pokémon, from the South Korean egg, with someone locally or even sat right next to me and I can still accomplish the research task? Still a little confused about the trading part

Bettytaghetti, I do have a raid group...they tend to raid at this time of day, when I'm chained to the kitchen for the kids. I'm thinking about setting up a PoGo Mums raiding group but not sure of the admin required. Midmorning raids FTW!

@NachoFries Yes. Just make sure you check that the distance on the trade is at least 10,000 km. Where I am Seoul is 500 km or so short. (Or so I was told by a frustrated player yesterday!)
This trade was 855.3 km.

But poochy can be gold and shiny!

@Bootsuit A pity we couldn't battle! I had Battle a Trainer as research so was pleased when your request came in; it just didn't work.

@53rd that's exactly what I've had to do. I dont know anyone in real life who plays so I set up a second account so I can trade and battle. I've already reached level 40 in my main account so sometimes when I'm out now I use the second account. The change in spawn spots has actually benefitted me. I used to only have the one at home that spawned once per hour, now I have at least 4 or 5. I can imagine it must be very annoying for those of you who have lost some though. I've had a few make a new friend tasks recently so have added some of you who have posted yr trainer codes recently. I'm podsy68.

@sleepycat the only way I can do it is by choosing the right mon. Something like a nosepass or one of the many zangoose around atm. Anything with a big circle. Or try it when you get your 7 day field bonus (so long as it's not an eevee!)

Hm, just luck of the draw re spawns then it seems! Just strange there are so so few here in the burbs when we had so many before!
Incidentally I had only one pokestop riiiight at the very edge of the screen when at my house and now there are four new ones added in the town and a new gym, and the old pokestop is also a gym! So that's something at least!
