I was going to evolve the Halloween pikachu to get a Halloween raichu but the option wasn't there. I've been doing it with the other special ones. Bit annoying

I had fun with the Colossal Discover too, getting 7 new entries in the dex - all 4 Regi’s, Simisear with my first Unova stone, Lickilicky with the Sinnoh stone and an egg that hatched into a Gible. I was only out for 2 hours with DD napping in the buggy but there was a Telegram set up for the local group and there were always some people about for raids and I’ve heard that some did the full hour 8 hours! Best community spirit I’ve ever seen.

@MrsGannicus hope you had a good hol! I’m low on eggs and don’t have anyone else to level up with today. Go ahead if you need to but would you mind holding on? Hoping to arrange a mid week time with @DeathMetalMum and hopefully some others that I’m 2/3 days away with. Don’t want to repeat the whole list as it’s in the previous post but shout out in particular to @Bittercup and @DaveGrohlsBeard as we are due to go Best

kraggle I had the same. DD was trying to battle people (sorry KnittingGenie and Thomas President) but the game kept crashing every time the other party accepted the challenge to battle.

@Blueroses99 Happy to wait but mid week might be a bit too soon for me as going best with two people today. Do you think you'll have an egg on at the start of the next community day?

I got Moltres from my 7 day field research this week. Much better than flowery Eevee!

I haven't finished "A thousand year slumber" yet. It's the Win 5 raids which is the sticker for me as I'm raiding on my own so 4 and 5 star raids are out of my reach.

I'm onlybseeing geodudes, magmemites and spheals... Is this for colossal discovery? Bit boring!

I caught a 100% magnemite so I'm not complaining.

Those cobalions are jumpy buggers, aren't they? DS and I did 3 raids yesterday and only caught one each. I hit them with most balls, but then the damn things refused to stay in.
How are you pronouncing it? Mr40x and his girlfriend watched an American YouTuber who called it a 'cob-AAAAHH-lion' and now call it that in a fit of giggles.

I personally prefer a Spanish twist but can't decide if I prefer cobalíon or cobaliON. (Just say it really fast with the accent on one or other of the last two syllables).
So far it's the only way we can make this Pokémon interesting.

Can anyone give me a really basic explanation of what to do in battle. So far we have only been collecting pokemon and spinning pokestops to get more balls. But yesterday a few pokestops I was invited to do a battle. I accepted and agreed to the team selection the app suggested and then it seemed to get stuck - I didn't know what to do and nothing happened. I couldn't hang around for ages as it was an awkward spot and I had to go to the school run so I may have missed something obvious! I have googled but most of the battle tip pages it led me to were aimed at people that are further on and all about team selection and battle strategies!
Thankyou - we are loving this game, eggs have hatched and we've even evolved some pokemon. Need to go onto the next step... Might even enter the local gym one day soon!!!

@jillandhersprite I asked the same question when I rejoined a few months ago! The purpose of battles are to take over a gym to your colour so you battle the Pokemon already in there just by tapping your screen. You will earn XP toward gym badges (silver, gold mean you get more rewards eg when you spin) and any Pokemon you put in by defeating the gym will earn poke coins. If you go past a gym of your team colour, it’s worth checking if there is any space and popping one of yours in. Raids work in a similar way but with a 120 second countdown, and you get a chance to win the Pokemon raid boss if you successfully defeat them. Suggest you start with a one or 2 star raid (pink egg) as these can be done alone.
