Thanks @eeyoredebbie! I’m MrsShooty in game. I’m level 39 so not too shabby but definitely not at all savvy when it comes to upgrading etc - I just upgrade whatever will get rid of the annoying red dot! Will try and do better...

When I am playing I tend to prioritise the foundables with a beam, they drop higher rewards.

I know the red dot is annoying but maybe try and identify the next node/make a plan and try to save for some of the better upgrades

Just in case anybody does ever read this thread again Niantic and Warner Brothers have announced they are closing the game Wizards Unite. It will be removed from the App Store on 6 December and will close completely on 31 January 2022. It’s the end of an era for me as I’ve played every day since launch! Here’s to the next chapter! Lumos to all fellow witches and wizards x

That's quite sad. I played it since the beginning but once I reached level 60 I really lost interest. Also they made it too easy to complete the pages. I actually liked that originally it would of taken ages to get all the wand fragments for example. Ah well, I'm back on Pokémon Go now.

I’m really frustrated by their decision to just bin the game off. Or rather, to completely neglect it & then bin it - & with almost no notice & no way to actually complete everything unless they suddenly make all the adversaries easier & more common AND 1920s porkeys normal rather than a special event.

I’d started out with PoGo & then played both for a while but ended up switching to WU because PoGo got a bit… overwhelming…? I think it’s the autism. Mine, I mean. Apparently I couldn’t cope with that much change even in a gameworld mapped onto this one.

I got bored of pogo after about two months when it first came out. I don’t think I’ll go back. It’s sad frustrating all the feels! The animation for Umbridge is superb. I am going to miss this bloody game!

WU is so… satisfying…?

They really let the game down, basically - not fixing things, not bringing out new lessons, not developing the narrative… but even with all that it was still really strong & playable. They were busy with their gemstone-match game thing though - that’s one that’s going to lead to huge bills for anyone who lets a child play without having in-game purchases disabled. Which I know is the responsible thing to do, but it also feels a bit wrong to design a game so you can’t use your lives to keep playing when you run out of time (which sometimes seems to happen due to clunky software), you either have to start over or pay to extend the game. And extensions [would] work out incredibly expensive.

I’m trying out the earlier go-adventuring-through-Hogwarts game. The animation is pretty diabolical & obviously it’s a completely different premise/style of game, but if you want to hang out in the Potterverse…

Thanks for the companionship xx I’ve tried both Hogwarts mystery and puzzles and spells at least twice but neither held my attention but that was probably because Wizards was always in the background. I do like something to play outside while I’m walking the dog… oh well DH says I might start enjoying the scenery outside again 😂

Yes, neither one is really set up as a dog-walking accompaniment in the way WU is. I think perhaps Mystery is the better game generally though… Am genuinely having mad thoughts of writing to JK Rowling & asking her to please find someone else to take over the game…

I'm so sad they are shutting down the game. I've loved it and introduced my seven year old daughter to it too. It's got so much more to it than Pogo.
