Does anyone play?

I love it - never played multiplayer before either but enjoyed elder scrolls n fallout series now I’m a bit addicted

In terms of Fallout 76, while you might get some players to play with you, I doubt you will get much. Due to Bethesda's (the developer and publisher of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series) recent business practices, including lying, scamming, and overall shipping a bug-ridden product, the game has lost more than 95% of it's player-base before launch.
If you enjoy Fallout 76's gameplay, you will likely also enjoy games like Ark: Survival Evolved, Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt, Horizon Zero Dawn, Mad Max, Rust (NOTE: Rust is an NSFW game, so do not play it around your children), and Minecraft (people host multiplayer servers for several different purposes, one of the most common being "Factions"; a kind of server dedicated to players making their own faction bases and the like)
These games (being both significantly less buggy AND more popular) will most likely net you more people to play with, and help you find the kind of game you like. Sorry for the word vomit- I just didn't want you to get your hopes up in finding a significant number of people.

I am a massive Fallout4 fan and was so excited about 76 coming out.

Very disappointed in it. I find the story weak and don't like that there are no NPCs.

Currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and enjoying it very much.
