Family Friendly Minecraft Server

Hi All,

I have seen several posts on Mumsnet about the safety of online gaming for children.

I thought I would introduce myself as the Owner of play.wondercraft.org.

My partner, my best friend and I have run a minecraft server which is aimed at being family friendly. This is to capture what we believe is a need in the online space.

We provide a safe environment for all to play without some of the behavior of players of other servers out there.

The server has a very strict no swearing policy where any swearing is converted to a nonsensical message so none of the swear words show at all. For example F* Y** would become I smell roses. So there is no indication of what the swear was.
The system in 90% of cases will auto mute the person without even showing the gibberish.

If they try again the system will auto kick them off the server. If they come back and do it again they are permanently banned.

All players get the ability to protect their projects and these cannot be destroyed by any other players. This also extends to their chests so even when offline their stuff cannot be stolen.

There is no PVP (player vers player) combat on the server at all. This is to encourage working as teams.

A few examples are one family, Mother, Father and 2 kids all play for a few hours a day and have praised the server for its family friendly atmosphere. The kids are 7 & 8 and the parents are playing less as they know the kids are safe.

The kids get to show off their creativity with a few decorating the server for Christmas. And the work they have done is so impressive.

If you are looking for a safe place to let your kids try online gaming then please give us a try.

Hope to see you soon.
