I've not even reached 50 with the berry feeding challenge yet and I'm down to two pinaps. The pokestops here are dispensing great balls and revivers like they're going out of fashion and the local gyms are full of hungry pokes: 3,000+ monsters down to 400 CP, so I'm clearly not the only one.

BaronessBomburst A Pokemon’s CP naturally depletes over time in gyms anyway, and if people don’t want or already have gold on those gyms, they aren’t going to berry them up anyway.

I don’t berry gyms unless I need gold as there’s little point.

Solo'd my first ever Tier 3 today and feel unreasonably proud

That's almost my take too, Wailmer but there's a level 40 trainer in the village who feeds all the red gyms. The record is 8 days as a mega gym before it got taken by the blues across the river. We had it back within two hours. It's kind of a status thing among us local reds. It's OUR gym.

@TangelasVine belated thanks! I’ve just remembered that what got me back into Pokemon Go was waiting in Euston this time last year. I’ll just go where I’d usually go (likely Covent Garden) so glad to hear there’s lots everywhere.

Great news about the health app! I can’t run Pokémon when I’m out walking as the battery goes too fast. I hope it works properly tho. I had to stop letting it have my health data on my Apple Watch because it recorded every time I played Pokémon as a workout and messaged details to my workout buddies, mainly DH who was very snarky about getting messages re my ten minute walk to the shop and the school run on a daily basis.

Yy, Tallulah it Spiritomb was my reward for catching 108 mons. So you’ll still get to add it to your dex even if you can’t get 8 new stops before the event ends. It’s just the XP and the other task completion bits and bobs you won’t get.

For those still catching 108 pokemon with berries, I found that if you give a nanab Berry, do a straight catch with a red ball, if it escapes (quite likely), then go back to the map, you get the credit and then do the same thing again. I think I got 4 or 5 credits for the same murkrow so I'm nearly at the total even though I haven't actually caught many!

If you use a berry and it escapes you don't have to leave the catch screen and go back in, you can just use another berry and both will register. It also counts if the Pokemon runs. If you don't want to use balls you can berry the Pokemon then leave the catch screen and it will register one.

So if the catching pokemon task gets you Spiritomb, what does the 8 new pokestops get you? I'm a bit confused. But good news for me that it's not essential.

The pokestop bit just gives xp, if you do that, catch 10 dark and 108 Pokemon you can get balls, stardust and silver pinaps then go to 3/3. Those 3 tasks autocomplete for just xp I think and then you get spiritomb candy I think. That's off the top of my head so I might have got the last bit slightly wrong.

That's great thank you. Means travelling or breaking into graveyards isn't essential
