How are you maintaining your phone battery?! I'm going to have to get a portable charger. Two hours in the park and it went.

JuniLoolaPalooza I always have at least three chargers on me just in case, although now I have an iPhone X my Pokemon Go can play for hours and not need one.

Anita you can switch buddy whenever you like but it's best do it just after you've got a buddy candy. Reason is because you lose the progress e.g. I'm walking Slakoth and if I swap when I'm on 4k/5k then the 4k would've been for nothing.

30 berries into the task, thankfully I have tomorrow off so will go into the city centre. Should be able to catch loads of Pokemon there.

I spun about 20 stops today and only got 2 eggs...and hatched the only 2 eggs I already had! So I still have 6 empty spaces. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

I've caught over 1000 and never seen a shiny Pokémon either. I do have a few lucky ones though as DS and I trade regularly to get extra candies. (we both keep Pokémon caught elsewhere exactly for this purpose)
Have you seen the new hats in the shop?
I fancy one but would be better off with a bag upgrade.

I’m sorry to lower the tone, but has anyone else noticed that Stunky has a face like a bum, and Skuntank has a face like a bum and Donald Trump’s hair? Wickedlady that would be good, I can get new pokestops when I travel but I'm not going anywhere until December.
I had a look at a pokestop map and there are 6 within 40 miles that I don't think we've ever been to but 4 of them (if gyms count) are in an attraction that has closed down (because it was ridiculously expensive) and we wouldn't be able to get to them.

Yeah efferlunt that may work. I'm sure there are other people in rural locations which will have difficulties with that task, we could do pokestops for each other.

WickedLazy That has been the case with Mew and Celebi however Niantic have said this special research is limited time only, presumably only lasting until the end of the event. So you won’t be able to take your time with it.

I am also going to post this again because it is very important:

For anyone getting others to log in for them in another location, be very careful. Niantic is cracking down hard on cheating and spoofing.

Just make sure you leave enough travel time. So if your friend logs out of your account at 3.00pm in another town, don’t log in in your hometown until the time it would take you to get back there, else it will flag up.

So if it takes 40 minutes to get back, wait at least 40 minutes (if not more).

Many accounts have been banned because trainers got others to log in for them in a different location.

I've realised there are some stops I haven't spun in my town. But they are in a huge graveyard - saw them from the bus. I may be taking this Halloween event to extremes by going in graveyards

Thanks for your reply wailmer re power & tasks. I'm progressing with the berries task, and plenty of pokestops I've never been to here in the city.
I'm just bugged about the gift drop rate going down. I did about 20 stops today and got about 4!
