38000 ish is the highest in my friends list. I have a long way to go 😂

Highest on my list is nearly 100k. They are on level 40 though. I've caught 28k (level 38). I read somewhere that to get from level 37-40 is the same xp as getting from 0-37, which might explain the difference!

Yes it's 9.5 million to get to level 37 and then 10.5 million from there to level 49.

I'm 3.5 million into level 39 so just 1.5 million to go! To be fair it's so much easier now to get xp than it was. Friendship has made a massive difference. The really hardcore players all got to level 40 MONTHS ago, they must have put some serious hours (and miles!) in.

That's pretty good! I've caught just under 9000 mostly in the past six months but then I live on a gym in the middle of town so tons of spawns.

I've only caught just over 9.5k, I play most days but had a 6 month break not long after it was released. I don't catch anywhere near anything I see. The most on my friends list is about 65k.

pottypotamus Yes. IV never changes unless the Pokemon is traded (in which case it’s not yours anymore so that’s irrelevant anyway).

That’s the reason IV is so important - because it can’t be changed. Low level Pokemon can be powered up (only do so if they’re worth it - stardust is especially hard to get a lot of) so the CP grows, but low IVs will always be low.

So far, all mine have.

I've got an alakazam evolved from a kadabra that I caught in the Efteling. It has a really high CP. I loved that Pokémon. It was special.
It also has an IV of 35%.
In fact, most of my highest Pokémon have been revealed to be utter donuts.

I would chuck them all out but they still come up as recommended for battles. I'm now focusing on replacing them, then chucking them out.

Yes I was also convinced my Pokemon with highest CP would have great IVs. Turned out not.

Niantic have put a tweet out about stacked research encounters. I'm sure I remember someone mentioning that they had them so it made the catch 108 for Spiritomb easy. Not sure how it will work now.

pottypotamus Stardust should only be used to power up your top tier attackers. Any other use of it is a complete waste.

While it might seem stardust is easy to get as you get it from every catch and hatch, consider this: to take a Pokemon from Level 20 to Level 30 it costs 75,000 dust. And that’s just one Pokemon, so to have a good powered up team of attackers it is going to cost you hundreds of thousands and most likely into the millions of stardust.

So choose the Pokemon you power up very carefully - make sure you’ll be battling with them, they’re high IV and at least level 20 to minimise the stardust and candy costs.

CP and IV are completely unrelated.

They’re not removing stacking completely, Sneaky, they’re just putting a cap of stacked rewards to 100
