DS 9 wants to spend his birthday money on this - my view is what's the point when he plays the free version with friends. Would he be better off spending his cash on a raid pass for the normal game? It's his money so within reason he can spend it as he wishes I just want to understand what he's actually getting for the cash

The game is really quite different, I bought it because I thought it would improve my game for the Battle Royale version but it's so different that it doesn't help and we rarely play. If you could persuade him to wait I think spending on something else would be preferable.
