I've found a shiny Kabuto this week but no sign of a shiny Omanyte so far.

If you have Pokemon from God Tier that aren’t working for you, something is wrong somewhere. It’s either poor IVs, low CP, weak moveset, you’re not taking into account both its type and the type it’s going up against as well as factoring in moveset choices there too, or a combination of a few or all of them.

rainingcatsanddog I’m the opposite Grin I have a shiny Omanyte but I’d rather a shiny Kabuto.

Meant to add to my God Tier Pokemon comment that if you’re just throwing them into battle and hoping they’ll be amazing simply because they’re God Tier and because^ they’re high CP and high IVs, that won’t work most of the time, but that doesn’t make them useless; it just means you’re not using them properly.

They’re God Tier because they’re powerful when used correctly, so if you do your research and take into account movesets, types etc. you’ll find out how great they really are.

SeahorsesAREhorses · 29/05/2018 07:42

Any word on the Doc?

Pikachuneedshelp · 29/05/2018 09:00

Do you consider yourself to be God Tier WhatToDo? Grin

Aggron’s dps is not particularly good. But because of the combination of its high survivability and the game’s over-emphasis on resistance in choosing the recommended team, they end up in recommended for pretty much everything. And are better removed for the majority of purposes. Hence why I am laughing at ohforgodssake tier.

I’m fine for understanding IV, cp, types and moves but, erm, thanks for that advice.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 29/05/2018 09:18

Pikachuneedshelp Considering I am not a Pokemon, I do not Grin

I never use the recommended Pokémon; I always tailor my team and have set battle parties for certain Pokémon.

Aggron has its strengths and weaknesses like every other Pokémon, but it is the highest CP steel Pokémon in the game and it is strong against a lot of different types.

You might be making a joke about God Tier, but do you know the other Pokémon that are in it? They are all placed there for a reason.

I wasn’t particularly giving you advice. It’s pretty standard that if you’re into battling, you should know about type effectiveness, movesets etc. So if you are I would assume you already knew that, but not everyone does.

I am jealous of your shiny!

We normally start at green park then head to Covent Garden, poke stops galore.

DoctorTwo · 29/05/2018 13:40

Thank you for all your good wishes. I am out and back home now, and feel almost normal, my usual state. I would just like to add that the NHS is utterly brilliant. I can honestly say if I'd left it a couple of hours I wouldn't be here, my heart would've burst trying to push the sludge that was my blood around my body. Even after they'd pumped 500ml of saline into me it was almost too thick to take a sample. I am such a lucky chap.

The last of the 'bolus' went down at 0215. You can imagine my relief. I took a tentative sip of water and mentally cheered when it stayed down. Over the next 5 hours I drank 3.5 litres of water and 2 cups of tea, and ate 2 slices of toast with butter. Once I'd been discharged I went to a cafe and ate double egg & beans on toast, washed down with a nice big mug of tea.

Again, thanks for your kind words, they mean a lot to me. Now to let my local group know I'm ok.

Good to have you back Doctor. Flowers

CaeciliusIstInAtrium · 29/05/2018 17:00

Glad to hear you're on the mend Doc!

GreenShadow · 29/05/2018 17:08

Wow Doc. Very scary. So glad you are sorted. And yes, isn't the NHS great when you need it.

GreenShadow · 29/05/2018 17:25

Oh dear.
Just read that the father of the Paris balcony toddler saved by "Spider-Man" was out playing Pokemon Go! That's not going to help our reputation...

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 29/05/2018 18:15

Glad you’re okay now, DoctorTwo Flowers I had surgery on the NHS earlier this year (that impacted on my Pokemon Go playing!) and each and everyone I saw was just incredible.

TinselAngel · 29/05/2018 22:10

Only finally bloody threw an excellent curveball and caught the Mew! Thanks for all the tips folks, they worked a treat!

Had two nasty moments, firstly when the app updated just as I started the encounter, and secondly when I couldn't work out how to switch AR mode on! But fortunately I was able to leave the encounter then start it again

I'm so chuffed!

Glad you’re OK Dr Two. Hope you’re enjoying eating properly again.

It didn’t make me put AR on. It came up with the message, but then let me catch it without me having to exit and turn AR on.

Wartortle88 · 29/05/2018 23:43

Glad to hear you're okay, Doctor!

I'm with the people who think Aggron is a bit disappointing in game. It has unfortunate double weaknesses, and its DPS combined with Steel not being the most useful attack type hampers it too.

It should be useful when we get the Regis, though.

BouleBaker · 30/05/2018 03:54

Glad you’re ok DoctorTwo. I’m awake in the middle of the night, rain is pouring down, but I’m almost tempted to go out.

MrsJamin · 30/05/2018 07:20

Yeah those look fun to catch! I'm finally levelled up to 30 as I was in an unusual town and got loads of new pokestops yesterday! I'm loving pokemon again, makes me use social media a lot less.

bettytaghetti · 30/05/2018 07:33

So glad you're ok Doctor. That must have been very scary.

bettytaghetti · 30/05/2018 07:39

Also caught one of the stretchy neck exeggutors this morning. Glad it's grass/dragon as the dragon tamer badge is the only one I haven't got gold on (missed the dratini community day, boo!).
Also have managed to level up to 37, yay!

Ive managed to catch a couple from home too. Nice surprise to wake up to.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 30/05/2018 09:37

Yay! So glad Alolan Exeggutor is in the game Smile
