Here we go with a shiny new thread.

I was hoping the retro graphics would be gone by now. I really need to mass evolve/ clean out but want to see them clearly as I don't want to make mistakes. I'm full but don't have the coins for storage as the gym patterns are out of synch over the holidays... other than my two Snorlaxes doing a long term residential visit in a living museum. At least next time I visit, I'll at least be on silver on those gyms

We got a new pokestop and gym today. The pokestop is outside my house but just too far away for me to reach it which is very annoying!

Hardly anyone plays here. Mons in gyms last week's so it's hard to work out when I'll get coins. Yanma has spent 3 weeks at a vineyard!

I was very lucky on two counts, there is a ghost pokemon nest nearby and as I haven't had a shiny yet I'd been hoarding magikarp candy so I could evolve one straight away.

I managed to catch a Chimecho (my first) on the way to work this morning and grabbed myself a Latias at lunchtime too so not a bad day here.

Also hatched a Trapinch out of one of my last event eggs which is handy for the candy (although sadly only got 10) as I don't have Flygon yet.

I encountered the holy grail of 3 great throws in a row Pokémon, this afternoon. An ursaring! The aiming ring virtually fills your screen.

Bit miffed that the encounter Pokémon are only level 15.

We're nowhere near the ditto because we were away for the weekend and the weather was utterly filthy yesterday but I have a mass evolve to do tonight and about a kilometre of walking left to do to get through the 4th stage.

I'm another one who has been hoarding flappy candy for the elusive shiny so I've fished (ahem) Sir Flapalot out of retirement to save up for my next one and help with some of the candy tasks. Unfortunately, all the gen 3 I need to walk are 5k candy.

Excellent day today! Caught a Ditto and three ghosts on the way to work and hatched both a Beldum and a Trapinch. So I’m only four ghosts off the next task! I would have had it all done by now if I hadn’t been at work everyday since the launch.

I did five Latias raids after work today and caught two. The first raid I did I caught it and it was 96% weather boosted! So very, very happy with that

Just managed to catch my ditto this evening between two Latias raids. Didn’t manage to catch them though. Never mind got a month!

Why aren’t they sorting the graphics out! Surely it was an April fools day joke?

I got 1 out of 4 Latias today, and it's crap. I'm glad I have the dex entry before I go back to work though!

I also levelled up, so I'm now level 35 and hatched a bagon, a snorlax and a feebas so quite a successful day.

I just caught my 11th perfect 100% mon. Woop woop.

Just a geo dude (now evolved to golem) but it was already level 30 too. So an excellent addition to the team.

Lovely little egg hatch today.

Plus side of the "8 bit" graphics is that I sorted enough stuff out to last the half hour of my lucky egg and had 8 minutes left when I was done with it all! It's really speeds the game up!

Did a gengar raid with ds1, this morning. Had a restless ds2 with me so had no time to faff on with choosing optimal pokies and dodging wasn't going to happen with me playing one handed. I drop my phone too often already.

Burnt through the first 3 pokies in no time, then an umbrella was awesome and did loads of damage and a couple of pigeots were surprisingly good. I think they both had hurricane, iirc.

PickAChew Gengar raids heavily rely on your Pokemon having good movesets. It is dual type, ghost/poison, so your best bet is a high CP Tyrannitar with Bite/Crunch.

Other good counters are Gyarados with Bite as a fast move, Golems and Rhydons with ground moves and Espeon or Alakazam with psychic moves.

Your Umbreon did well because it (presumably) has dark moves, but Gengar is not weak to flying so Pidgeots won’t have occurred decent damage.

Can I just say a big thank you to you all for all the helpful tips on playing? Another MAPPY (middle aged poké player) here just blundering her way through whilst walking the dog! (Someone's benefitting from hatching eggs!)
I haven't had much joy with doing raids because I don't know anyone else who plays. How do you find out about local groups? My only luck was when I was sent an ex raid pass a while back and realised afterwards I should have asked if they were in local groups, but it was in the middle of a park just before it was due to close and pitch black. If I'd told DH what I was doing he would have gone mad!! (But I did get a 96% Mewtwo so it was worth it!).
