What are Ingress players? 2 new pokestops near me - both pubs. Plus weirdly another has disappeared?

tumpymummy Niantic runs another game called Ingress, which has portals (like our stops and gyms). The high level players who play that game can put in requests for new portals and since Niantic owns both games takes approved portals and adds them into Pokemon Go as stops and gyms.

Don't give up on the Latias raids @Efferlunt, it took me 7 tries to get one. I've now done 16 raids and caught 5. A friend caught her 1st 9 and has done another 17 raids and now has 10! :o She really is a bugger to catch.

@CollyWombles, I agree with the others, don't waste stardust on rats and pigeons, don't power up anything until you're at least level 25, maybe even level 30, and then only 'Mon that are over 90%. I power up sparingly, the only ones being my 100% Feraligatr, now a 2604CP level 37 critter, Dragonite, my best Gary, my best Golem and my best Tyranitar.

I treat Stardust like gold (or its digital equivalent) as it's finite. You only get it from catches or raids, it's the one thing you can't buy in the shop. Long may that continue.

On my quest towards Mew I will complete task 6/8 today by evolving another Gary and doing 10 raids. I have no idea what tasks await as I haven't searched. I just know (from Prof. Willow) that it's invisible. Now I hope to learn how to 'see' it.

How have some of you gotten a mew so quickly?

@dillite there was a glitch in the ‘win 10 raids’ that earlier players could exploit by exiting and rejoining the raid counted multiple times. Unfortunately the glitch was fixed before I got to it and I’m still slogging through the raids.

The mew task will probably end before I get it. Ditto remains elusive!

It's still possible to do the 10 raid task quickly though, find a low level raid, stick a Blissey in & dodge as though your life depended on it until the timer runs out, do not hit it in case you win. Heal up then go back in, you can get quite a few done using only the one raid pass this way & if you use Blissey you shouldn't need too many potions. Then win the last one & you should have registered all the unsuccessful ones too. I did mine on a Sneasel the other day, didn't arrive at hatch but managed to do about 6 before the timer ran out.

dillite Some people in our group had Mew within two days, and had I not been working, I would have too. Instead it took me a little longer, think I got it after a week?

But I raid at least two or three times a day anyway so found that really easy.

They've fixed the raid thing Crabbit so if you've gotten the task in the last ten days you can no longer let the timer run out and go back in multiple times - you have to do 10 separate rates.

Dillite I had a bit of luck with the Mew raids - had a shuppet nest next to work so caught my ghost pokemon quickly, plus already had 400+ Magikarp candy waiting to go. I also caught a ditto on the first day of that particular task level, although that was part of a dedicated four hours of pokemon hunting.

I got my ditto! Finally - it was DS1 who spotted it/caught it first, good job he knew that I was looking for one!

Now just those final two ghosts...might have to look out for sableye raids at this rate

I caught a ditto!!!!! Finally caught a ditto!!!! I even scared DD with my excitement. And thanks to Kanto event I was able to evolve a magicarp, it wasn't a great one but fuck it, I want a Mew. Now just need to battle in 10 raids.

Still no ditto

Took us about 5 days to do all our raids. Ds1 insists on doing things"properly" so no timed out raids for us. We went into a big city centre and managed to do the last few in one leg wearying slog but managed to run out from home to do a few, too, as we have 4 gyms in sight. We'd have still been at it if we lived in our old house with one solitary pokestop a mile away and the need for wheels to get to any gyms.

All I’m missing from Hoenn is Milotic, Shelgon and Salamence (have enough candies to evolve to those just waiting for 90%+) and Cradily (walking Lileep), Armaldo and Masquerain (will walk after getting Cradily).

Sorry wartortle didn't realise they'd done that too, I knew they'd fixed it so you couldn't quit to the lobby and so take no damage as you could in the first couple of days, but hadn't known they'd closed this shortcut too. I must've just done it in the nick of time.

I'm plodding on slowly through the raids. DH is away all weekend and much of next week so no nipping out of the house without human baggage.

Interest in Latias is waning as most people have it and aren't too bothered about getting masses of multiples so finding convenient raids with enough interest is getting challenging.

iheartmichellemallon It’s an exclusive raid, and at the moment it’s a pass for a Mewtwo raid (it’s the only way to obtain Mewtwo).

The raid is set on a specific day within a 45 minute period and only those with an ex-raid pass can participate in the raid and have the chance to catch Mewtwo.

iheartmichellemallon An Ex-Raid Pass is a very rare and special pass. They’re only given out at certain times and only if you complete Niantic’s semi-secret requirements.

Most local raid groups have worked out their local ex-raid gyms and when passes will drop, so you know when to hit those specific ex-raid locations in order to hopefully (it’s not always guarenteed) trigger an ex-raid Pass.

You can’t buy an ex-raid pass, you have to earn it by fulfilling the right requirements.

Premium raid passes are just the same as a normal raid pass, they’re just ones you’ve paid for and allow you to enter all but ex-raids.

Idly doing IV checks I found I have a 100% Totodile, so I've used most of my rare candy to double evolve to Feraligatr and power it up to level 25. My other one is level 37 and it's fully powered for my Trainer level which is 35. I'm only 121k XP shy of level 36, so could get there this week.

Anyone know if you can ditch a field research reward? I’m on my third Moltres, don’t really want to catch it, and the stupid thing won’t stay in the balls! I’ve wasted so many balls so far

twodrinkswithlunch I’m not sure. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want to catch a legendary - even if you don’t want Moltres because you know from its CP it has poor IVs, surely you’d catch it for either candy after transferring or future trading possibility?

Moltres is the best fire type in the game so far, and legendary candy is so very rare so I’m quite perplexed as to why you wouldn’t want to catch it!

(Especially if you didn’t do any Moltres Raids last summer and don’t do many or any legendary raids in general.)
