Argh. I am not a gamer and do not understand this stuff, so I am hoping someone can help me out.
DS has an xbox one. I have always resisted taking out a subscription for xbox live because as far as I could see it was throwing good money after bad (having paid a huge amount for the console I didn't see why I should also have to effectively pay rent on the damn thing too - bit like buying a leasehold house!) Also, he's only nine and I don't actually want him playing on line.
Anyway, he has just been and spent his savings on Forza 7. It seems not to be prepared to let him play without an xbox live account. Is this right, or am I misunderstanding something basic?
Grovelling plea for help - please rescue a complete gaming noob.
