I caught a wild totodile today! That was the most exciting thing to happen in this game for weeks, if not months.

Are the new incubators worth getting? I don't have any 10k eggs, only 5k's, so don't want to waste my coins if they aren't that good.

I have now got 5 10k eggs in less than 24 hours. Definitely an increased drop rate for the 10k here!

Same here wartortle! I’m glad I have more 10k eggs, but they’re just clogging up space for 2kms, even with the special incubators.

Caught 2 wild Ryhorns today, so got to power up my Rydon lots.

Need to go for a long walk tomorrow drive through some slow traffic and clear out some space for more Eggs.

Finally walked my sandshrew enough for a sandslash. I’m waiting to see what other evolutions I’ll get and use a lucky egg to do them all before the event is done. Been saving up vermin too

The last event 2k I hatched was a slowpoke which is disappointing! Not even particularly good IV.

I have Pokémon shoved in gyms all over the place, what. I wasn't worried about getting the 50. Something would have come back. I just needed 2 more coins to be able to buy one of the special boxes.

Have got the 50 coins now. Hopefully everything else will hang on until tomorrow.

How long do you have to defend a gym for before you get a gold gym badge?

I have many power packs, but ds1 went and picked up a nearly empty one, yesterday morning, so I had to share mine with him!

I think, without any other activity like battles, raids etc, it's looking like about 30 days between silver and gold.

I think I have a gold badge for one of the gyms in my town, but I’ve only defended for 17 days!

It's on the bus route into work which makes raids and battles a bit difficult.

Hopefully the others will be a bit easier because I can get points for other stuff too.

Getting a gold gym badge doesn't just depend on days; a number of factors helps you get gold.

So we have:

• Adding Pokémon to the Gym (+ 100 Badge XP)
• Holding a Pokemon at the Gym (+1 Badge XP per minute)
• Defeating a defending Pokémon (CP of Pokémon defeated divided by 100)
• Winning a Raid battle (+ 1000 Badge XP)
• Giving Berries to Pokémon held at the Gym (+ 10 Badge XP, as well as 20 Stardust and a possibility of Candy)

Raid battles give the most, followed by actively fighting the gym.

So number of days can vary. I got my first gold gym after 12 days defending, but that's because I've done a lot of raids and fought a lot there.

In total, you need 30,000 Badge XP to get gold. Once you get that, by whatever means (not just defending), then you get a gold gym.

That's why I said without any other activity :)

I've four gold gym in my local town (and a pointless three in New Zealand 😆). I'm find the local ones surprisingly useful and I'm powering up my efforts to get more.

I got 29 items from my first stop of the day. 7 day streak plus gold gym but no gym control. I presume if I had gym control. I would have got thirty.

My seven day spin on a gold gym WITH gym control did give me 30 items (and a raid pass).

That's good motivation to gold up the gyms near our new house! The one I'm getting close with is about 30 pokestops away, so not worth spinning first!

The one that I'm closest to getting gold I spin twice a day at least 6 days a week so it's worthwhile getting it gold. The other two I'm aiming for are near the bus stop where I get on, but those may be easier because they are closer to home.

I've been on a UK holiday and it's been great getting all the countryside mons. I've got 100s of eevee candy now and I hardly ever see them at home. Also snubbull, Mankey and others that are rare-ish for you.

I've noticed we have our extra spawn points back for the event.

Yes but not that often. I feed a lot of berries to the gyms that I'm trying to level up to gold and I watch out for candy. I think it's easy to miss them.

I've got 100s of eevee candy now and I hardly ever see them at home.

Wow, really?! I see about five eevee's a day; didn't realise they were rarer in other parts of the UK.

When I lived in London I never saw an evee. Now north of the border I have squillions of them! I had never seen a caterpillar either till I went to my MIL's. However I did see hitmonlee-a-plenty (well, 10 of them) , but none since I left London. I think it's a good thing there are local regional variations, makes holidays more interesting.

I get a handful of evee a week, maybe. They all have really crap IVs though. Have managed about 120 candy over the last few months, but have nothing I want to evolve.

I've noticed the same about spawn points. Out of an event there is only ever one pokemon I can see spawning from my house, in the same place, but during events I normally have 3-4 (again in the same extra places).
