I’ve been clearing out my eggs. Went on a school trip to London yesterday, so that was lots of slow driving and millions of stops! Hatched a decent Onyx, but the rest were pants. My bag is full of potions now too

As Chansey and Mareep are going to hatch from 2km eggs I'm going to buy a couple of incubators and use them on 5km eggs to clear some space ready for the event.

I've done that too. I've got 2 eggs at 4k and one at 4/10. It may be counterproductive to hatch and swish pokestops until tonight. After 189k walking and HM training with Flaaffy as my buddy, anything to accelerate through the next 26 candies will be very, very welcome! He's a much much nicer buddy than grimer was, but even so

It's been a while since I spent money directly in the game, other than £2.50 to top up my data allowance, but a certain forum aimed at parents is also a factor in that

Most of my coins from gyms have been on upgrading item and pokemon storage in the last couple of months. I've not used many incubators in a while.

I allow myself one of the second coin packs per month, though I don't always buy one. If the boxes are decent, I might buy some coins, I have about 600 currently.

These are my pics, two lower tier boxes. I think I'll buy special, not that interested in lures or lucky eggs and my bag space is quite low.

I'll end up buying several Ultra boxes during the event

And soon Reddit will do some research on which box is best value.

Even the ‘Special’ boxes look like they’re going to be great value. 3 standard incubators on their own are 450, so 480 for three supers and some lures seems good to me! Not fussed about loads of lures and lucky eggs. Will probably do the same as Wartortle and stick to the smallest box

I've bought a special box. Might by another towards the ends of the event. Not fussed about lures, but can save them for an event where they'll be more useful. Still have 7 lucky eggs form when they were last half price after using one just after the event started. Only got 64KXP off it, though, despite registering Flaafy to my pokedex because the transitions between evolutions and pokemon details and then pokemon details and pokemon bag were really slow.

Just realised as well- the super incubators last for 3 uses. All of the rumours online said they would break after one! So that’s a nice surprise

What do the super incubators do? Are they twice as fast?

MummySparkle Super Incubators are 1.5x faster, so:

• 2km are now 1.3km
• 5km are now 3.3km
• 10km are now 6.6km

And they are definitely 3 uses

I did some rough calculations for my group tonight -

If you just want incubators (like me), the special box is your best bet as you'd get 9 incubators for 1,440 coins (plus 15 lures) - ie more than the big box.

If you're interested in the other items, the biggest box is the best as it's 64 coins per egg/lure instead of 70 plus 3 extra incubators. I did weight eggs and lures as equal value for the purpose of the box, and because it was 10pm (though I know eggs are slightly cheaper normally)

Just a note if you are buying coins, it's better value to buy the smallest amount at 79p, not sure why but Niantic don't believe in economies of scale...

Anyone hatched a 2km egg from the event yet?

Cleared out all of my eggs in preparation- so far, no 2km’s! Have got two 10km eggs today though, so that was something.

Two cottonwool, I got a pine I and a togepi (new for me), also got 2 10k eggs. I'm using the super incubators too. Found an executor nest today, got 8 dropping off and picking up ds2 from a party :)

Hatched a Mareep from a 2k egg but that's the only one I've had. Have got two 10km eggs though.

I’ve hatched an event 2km egg... remoraid

I hatched my old 10k egg today - aerodactyl, not amazing. Also hatched a load of rubbish from 5km eggs. So far I’ve got four 10km eggs and the 2k one with the remoraid in from the event. Anyone know if there’s any spawn / hatch / eggs rate data for the event?

Seems like 10km eggs are coming out of pokestops at a higher rate than usual. Never normally get 2 in a day. Lucky to get 2 in a week! Which is lovely, but at the same time I wish they were 2kms just for the event

OMFGA! I never expected to get a legendary, but I was in my town centre just as a raid was about to start. I went to the right gym and found 6 people there with phones in hand. Yes, they were there for the raid, they were waiting for 2 more and yes, I could join in. We beat it and I was the only one to catch it. Don't feel sorry for them, they all have at least one, and the group leader has 14! I am beyond chuffed. :o

My only 2km event hatch so far is Tyrogue with HP and Attack as best attributes. I want Mareep ffs! :o

I might take next week off to walk lots and visit my brother on the coast and have a few pints with him and his kids.

DoctorTwo Congrats! Did you ask them how they all stay in touch and organise raids - Facebook/WhatsApp etc.?

Well done Dr Two. Managed to find a raid where it wasn't just me for the first time this afternoon. Only three of us so still didn't manage to get the legendary.

Have loads of 5km eggs to get rid of. They seem to be hatching rubbish as well which is annoying.

Is anyone else noticing a lot of Pokémon they don't normally see spawning? It's been happening for about a week, so don't think it's the event. There was a Snorlax by the bus stop the other day and there seem to be charmander everywhere.

Haha! There's a gym right at the bus stop where I wait after dropping DS2 off at school. It's become my gym. MINE! Take it at your peril. Consequently, it's well on the way to being my one and only gold gym.

Only some eejit did my trick of a drive by attack, this morning, as I got chucked out at lunchtime, while DS1, who was second into it, was still there. FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW!!! Anyhow, we contrived to pass it on the bus on the way home from our day out, this afternoon, so I could get back into it. ONLY WHEN WE GOT THERE THERE WAS 4 MINUTES OF A BLOODY RAID LEFT SO I HAD TO MAKE DO WITH SPINNING THE POKESTOP BIT!!!!!!!!!!!
