MummySparkle I did the same thing a few weeks ago, I was on 'recent' as opposed to 'combat power' and accidentally put a 100 and something CP Nidorina in there to be honest I completely forgot and she came
back about a week later, so she withstood better than the likes of my 2000+ Pokemon!

I try to keep my top 6 out of gyms now- as obviously I can't then use them for raids. I'm only level 27, so level 2 raids are very difficult if I don't have the right types of Pokemon, and most of my top 6 are ground types which are normally quite effective

What if a Pokémon has two types? How does it work with the stab bonus?

You get the STAB bonus with a move of either of its types, so if you have a fire/rock Pokemon and it has dark/fire moves, you get the STAB bonus only on the fire move because it's half fire type.

So while it's usually better to be double, one move the same will get you the STAB bonus for that move.

Yeah, Outrage is a high damage move, so while it doesn't get the STAB bonus nor is it super effective against fire, it is still a powerful move from a powerful Pokemon. HydroPump would have been a better move against a fire Pokemon, though.

MummySparkle/cottonwool125 I put high CP Pokemon in gyms, but not ones I need in raids. So Blissey and Snorlax are always my first two for gyms as their main thing is defending and they shouldn't be used in raids.

WhatToDo I see what you mean unfortunately I have neither Blissey or Snorlax. Never even seen a whiff of a Chansey . All of my top Pokemon have good movesets and are very close, if not fully powered up, so I feel like it's a waste popping them in gyms.

My Donphan is still sitting in prime position- he could easily be overtaken by Vaporeon or Gyarados, but I don't have the heart as he has been there for so long

cottonwool125 Yeah, I only got Blissey and Snorlax relatively recently. I tend to have Espeon and Kangaskhan as my third and fourth gym choices, and then after that anything high CP that I won't need.

My top 16 definitely don't go in gyms!

I've done a couple recently as I seemed to gather a lot of Eevee candies, so did a couple just for fun. Only got jolteons and one flareon. Made me realise the only ones I've ever managed to get are both with the naming trick- and they're rubbish IVs as this was before I really knew about IVs, when I just evolved my highest CP mon.

No; you can only get them by using the name trick (only works once) or walking 10km with an Eevee and then evolving at the right time (day for Espeon, night for Umbreon).

Otherwise you get either Jolteon, Vaporeon or Flareon

WhatToDo ooh I didn't know it had another evolution after gen 2

I hatched it from an egg, but it only came with 16 candies which is a shame. I got the same amount from one of my 5k eggs. Every little helps though I suppose . I have 3 upgrades so as soon as I have enough candies, I can evolve straight away!

cottonwool125 Nice! I was very lucky and got two Porygons in the same day during the double event, so evolved my best one straight away.

Felt like I'd never get one, though!

WhatToDo wow that's very lucky! I miss the double candy events hatched a Mareep and a Dratini both with 60 candies each!

Hopefully once the Legendary Raids have finished, or the hype has died down slightly, they'll do another event

Made level 30! Woo! Hatched Elekid, Mantine and Hoppip in the last few days but haven't been out too much as I've hurt my foot so can't walk as far to get raids and that. :(
