Um, because it didn't occur to us not to really. I picked it up and levelled up to 5 before it was even released in the UK, so there wasn't so much information available and gym battling was relatively new (if it existed at all? I can't remember). I then downloaded it onto his phone, he did the same thing - and I don't think he realised that I was already in a team. He basically stopped playing before Gen2 came out but I still borrow his phone to battle if we need an extra bod in a raid, and obviously text him to ask him to play games when he should be working 😁 It's ok though - I got 22hrs in there so I got my 50 coins.

Took the DC to the park today which just happens to be a scyther nest - caught 15 scyther with pinapberries so I'm well ready to evolve when I finally get the right special item instead of another stupid dragon scale. Plus mum points, which is always a win (it had a paddling pool which was 'the best ever!' apparently).

I joined Pokemon go regional hunters. Lurked for about 2 months before trying for Taurus, then lurked again for another month before trying kangaskhan and FF. it's actually really easy to do

It's easy to do, yes, but I would warn anyone against doing it, because you are seriously risking your account.

If you get caught (and people have been), the very least they will do is slash your Pokemon and make it useless. At worst, your account would be banned.

I've worked so hard in the game to get the Pokemon I've got, not to mention all the badges earnt and miles walked; I wouldn't want to risk it all just to cheat.

Nope. The only chance of not being caught is if the travel time is added in and you could feasibly have travelled to said place at that time.

Only leaving it two hours for America is a surefire way for them to flag it up and slash your Pokemon.

I wouldn't risk it either - one of my friends was softbanned while she was physically in New York and the Tauros she got is still slashed despite attempts to contact Niantic and point out she was there.

I want another event! Seem to have been stuck on level 26 for such a long time. A fighting event would be great, as we haven't had one of those before.

I appreciate that Niantic have done a lot recently with the festivals in Chicago/Japan, and with the raid updates etc. But for the players that purely want to catch Pokemon, evolve and add them to the pokedex, it's been a bit slow lately. I do take down the occasional gym and pop a 'mon in there for coins when I can, but it's all just to buy incubators for eggs, not for extra raid passes etc.

I'd like an event too but we have birds until the 31st then possibly Mewtwo straight after so it could be a while.

Just read that you can get potions as a raid reward. 👍🏻

Got my team of Moltres finally so very happy today (They are appropriate for my RL profession). I was gutted as a chansey spawned near work on the day I wasn't in, but still hopeful my day will come to get one :)

I'm level 29 and slowly building things up. Very fed up of a lack of variety in the special items (yay, another chuffing sun stone...). Haven't managed to get any legendaries yet. The one raid I completed the app crashed as I was trying to catch lugia. The rest I've been there by myself.

wartortle Ooh nice Moltres collection! Sucks about the Chansey, but you will get one! I waited so long for mine and then hatched two within a few days enabling me to get my Blissey.

Did you try to go back in? Whenever the app has crashed on me I've always been able to get back in and continue where I left off.

Also, welcome! Have you checked Facebook for any groups near you? Or next time you bump into a fellow player, ask them if there's a Fb or WhatsApp group for the area

Yep, I went back in, but because we started the raid right at the end of the time limit by the time I had restarted the app it had defaulted to a. It also gym. I heard the cheers as everyone else caught it 😞

Only time I've actually spoken to other people at a raid was an 8 year old and his dad. They were sweet. I live in the sticks so everything is a car journey away. Nearest pokestop is a mile away so I'm mostly opportunistic!

MummySparkle Ahh yeah, that happened to me once; game crashed and couldn't get back in because the raid had stopped.

Check out gymhuntr.com; it's great for rural people. Put in your location and it tells you your nearest gyms, what team they are, whose in them, whether a raid is taking place and if so which raid Pokemon.

With two hour raids, it gives you enough time to get down there

You should chat to other raiders! I bet they've got a group (Fb, WhatsApp etc) so they can communicate and organise the raids they're doing, otherwise they'd never have enough people.
