Managed a Moltres with our gang of 4 today. DS3 didn't catch it though. This is the second time 3 of us have caught it and he hasn't so he's feeling a bit persecuted.

Second attempt at moltres failed

We all went to a tyranitar raid straight after. Piss easy to take down like moltres but fucking hell doesn't he half fight the ball!

I got my Tyrannitar from a raid last week. I think out of a group of 8 of us, 5 of us caught it.

Very well! I have 3 Articunos, 3 Lugia and 2 Moltres

2 Articuno, 1 Lugia, 3 Moltres here.

25 minutes would be one of the longer times I have managed to stay in a gym near my work. Central London gyms have a very high turnover.

2 attempts at articuno, one success

2 attempts at moltres, no success yet

No attempt at lugia yet

I don't get chance to dash out much when I've got two little un's napping and stuff

I've had amazing luck so far. 7 articuno out of 10 raids, 3 Lugia out of 4 raids and 2 moltres out of 4 raids. I've ran out of raid passes now so I'll only be able to do 1 raid a day now.

One attempt at Articuno- one success
Four attempts at Moltres - two successes
Two attempts at Lugia- no success

I've only done three Articuno raids but managed to catch two of them. I'm still trying to play without scanners etc but it's making it tricky as i can't really do raids without meeting up with groups that do. I think I'll have to have a rethink as I reallly want a moltress and I'm not going to get one on my own.

FuckIffDavid. That's a great hit rate. Are you a high level. I got more balls than anyone else after the raids as I have better 'mon as I'm level 38 so obviously had more chance of capturing the Articuno. I'm also pretty awesome at curve balls etc if I do say so myself

Being a high level doesn't mean you have more chance of capturing it, nor does having better Pokemon mean you get more balls either.

The amount of balls you get depends on gym control (2), contribution by team (so add 3 if your team battled most), damage inflicted (Max of 3) and the standard 5 for defeating it.

You can have the max number of balls, but whether or not you capture it depends entirely on luck and your ability to throw a good ball; not Level or standard of Pokemon.

Did it previously work fine? And did your phone update recently?

I'm only level 33 Pokemon I'm also useless at curve balls when I'm under pressure so haven't bothered trying. I'm part of an active Pokémon Facebook group so we go about as teams to maximize team contributions. I've just been really lucky so far. Crap luck with eggs thought.

pinkblink Ahh that sucks for your friend Must be the update. I do suggest contacting Niantic; they may be able to tell her if it can be fixed.

pinkblink I'd send her to Google, there are pages of possible causes and their fixes but she's the only one that knows enough about her phone to be able to pick the right one.

If I'm level 38 with some maxed out and very carefully chosen 'mon then surely my contribution effects my teams contribution so being level 38 helps my chances of catching a legendary - although obviously depends on other players levels, mons and their teams.

When I played the other day most the other players were low 30's and high 20's.

PokemonGo Your personal contribution will only get you an extra 3 balls.

Your teams conteibution will get you an extra 3 balls too, but if you were the only good one from your team the other team would get it if more of their players battled harder.

The only way it helps you catch a legendary is giving you the opportunity to have more balls.

When you have the balls, whether or not you catch it is in no way affected by your level.
