DS10 has his birthday soon. We never buy much for birthdays as he usually has a big party.
This year I was thinking of buying a switch. He has a WIIU plus every game plus all figures for skylanders and Lego dimensions.
Just asking if we buy the basic console what other bits are necessary. Say with the WIIU it was extra controllers.
If anyone has one could they give me a basic rundown.
Thanks

I wouldn't get one yet unless there are games he wants to play on it.

There have been issues with them, like the screen getting scratched when you put it in its dock and other larger issues.

There are rumours that they may bring out other versions.

We got one for DD for her birthday last week.

We bought 2 extra joy-cons, a screen protector and a carry-case for when in hand-held mode.

She loves it, but we are having issues getting it to connect to the wi-fi when it's docked.

Ive had a Switch pretty much since its launch.

I would personally also buy a pro-controller for when playing on TV mode. The buttons are much bigger and the battery life lasts longer then that of the joycons. Apart from that though I wouldn't say anything else was necessary to get. If your ds would also be taking it out then I would also say a travel case.
