It looked like a new thread was needed, so here it is, all shiny and pristine.

I managed to catch a wonder 794 CP Growlithe, which when evolved to Arcanine will be 2000 CP +. And that's without being powered up.

My current highest Arcanine is 1500, so I'm really chuffed as Arcanine is one of the best fire Pokemon.

I caught a lapras! Woo! It was just at my normal pokestop. There's a dratini there now but it's too hot to run out and get it.

I'm asked the kids to wait until Wed before we evolve our new Pokemon in case we find better ones.

Anyone else having trouble with the app today? Catching Pokemon in the ball but then it crashing? My local pokestop has turned fuzzy rather than the photo. I've just got to it and although it's blue and spinning it doesn't drop anything. I just hit another pokestop five minutes ago and it worked. Arghhhh. Frustrated!

Woah!!!!! Sounds awesome! Just for the fact that you can spin gyms alone.

I think it definitely puts lone hunters like me at a disadvantage. I've only seen 2 regular PoGo players at my local gym. (They are husband and wife - lol)

A Lapras turned up while I was on the bus into work this morning. Just as the wifi went down. By the time it was back up again the bus was just far enough away it had disappeared.

Gutted doesn't come close to covering it.

Prosecco my Pokemon app has been fine today - have managed to catch a few and spin stops as normal. Although in the last hour all the gyms have disappeared! I can normally see 6 from my house and they've all gone! I guess it's for the update. Very pleased that I still seem to be able to collect my coins as normal though as my mons haven't come back to me. Hoping they last another 1.5hrs so I can collect my 50 coins.

The new update seem a bit confusing right now, but I'm sure they'll make sense eventually.

I'm so relieved you don't have to waste your candies feeding them, and it's only berries!

Bit pissed you can only have one of each type in a gym though.

Gyms are down but my mon still seem to be assigned, with the count down to the next time I can pick up coins still going.

I've got a layover in Changi Airport (Singapore) and have been very excited at the thought of a couple of hours trying to catch a corsola. I know it's unlikely but I've stocked up on lures and incense just in case. However I'm worried that the airport will be a faraday cage and I won't be able to catch anything. 😭😭😭 I've also a layover in Hong Kong in a few weeks so I could theoretically catch a far-fetched too.

I'm off to OZ for work but I'll be there a few weeks so I'm confident I'll get a Kanga....whatever-it's-called.

I'm nearly half way through level 37 but I might give up once I get back. The new gym updates don't look great for single players like myself so I'll have to see what happens. I really enjoy doing gyms. I usually have around ten gyms but they come and go and I have to put a lot of effort into finding and batting or prestiging them -this is what makes the game exciting for me. I was/am hoping the new gym update will mean a lot more gym turnover. It's crazy that some gyms stay the same for literally months on end. I been in a couple of my gyms since last autumn. 🤔 It's great for coins but a bit dull. My local gyms have been stagnant forever and, I suspect, the only movement was caused by the spoofers being banned 😂

Sorry for long post. I've no one else to talk to about Pokémon go, everyone else looks at me with a face.

There's a typhlosion on my nearby list, I'm waiting to pick up DP from pub, do I risk losing my parking space to go and hunt it down?!

Ah bless you - it's good to have a release from a busy life! My close friend and I go on Pokémon safaris together around our city - chat and twirl. Helps us relax after a busy week. Certainly beats needlework as a hobby at times!

Thanks what I posted before reading the thread. It looks like the new gyms might be really cool. Perhaps I will go back to battling them. Although I will wait for a bit first so that the novelty wears off amongst the kids first.

In the US they are reporting that some pokestops have become gyms and vice versa, some are reportingan increase in both!!!!!! Gah, exciting!!!

I can see two gyms from my house. One is new and used to be a pokestop.
I think the mons remain in until the next coin collection. Although would be good if they forget and they stay the whole time
