And argh re gyms disabling, need to cash my coins in tomorrow morning - need 5 more. Hopefully will manage to cash in first thing, since it won't be 'tomorrow' until later in California.

Bimblesong you might not need to get a 3 SIm to play abroad, because from 15 Jun you can roam for free with yr phone in Europe (EU benefit). Although in my experience 02 not very good in Europe.

I've messed up! I was going to crack a lucky egg with my 7 day catch a Pokemon streak which is today, Sunday. However in bed last night there's one spawn spot I can reach. Stupidly caught a Pokemon after midnight didn't I, forgetting that was now Sunday! Could have doubled 2750XP for one catch!

Ah thanks, tumpy mummy. I managed recently with a vpn app, which routed my info through a server in the country I was in. I'll try that first if it doesn't automatically work. Where I had difficulty was with the cap that o2 put on the data - which was a pain and I couldn't find a way to top up on the daily allowance.

When does the event end? Just realised I should do an evolve session!

I'm looking forward to the new gym system. I'm sure there'll still be spoofers unfortunately but it should make things easier for solo players like me. Taking down gyms stacked with ten of the same pokemon is so boring.

There was a rumour there'd be a fighting type event with the gym relaunch but seeing we've just had an event it seems unlikely.

They do seem to have been doing events every two weeks, so a fighting type event seems possible.

I've just been on a long walk and caught my first Girafarig today. Unfortunately Pokémon Go wouldn't launch for 85% of the walk and kept freezing so the walk was for nothing.

I'm not sure about that. What they wanted to do with their changes was to encourage people to interact more, so it would seem counter productive to make it easier for solo players.

I have seen two grey gyms today, I wonder if that is them making changes? They were empty for about twenty minutes before they were snagged. I love fighting in the gyms but they are all level 10 blue team and stuffed to the rafters with Blisseys so no point.

Levelled up to 33 today, only 1 million till 34! I still think the rewards for levelling up are crap though.

I very much doubt it. Official announcement says they start disabling tomorrow, the 19th. There would be little point starting earlier and pissing people off.

I think they'll have to have restrictions on what you can put in gyms in future. E.g. 1 Blissey only

I really hope that's just a rumour; that would be awful. Candies are really rare for a lot of gym Pokemon and are needed to power them up not waste them like that.

Visiting the gym will only work if it deters spoofers, if they can just ping there and visit then it will only have the effect of making them even harder for genuine players. Just have to wait and see.

That was so odd about the grey gyms, someone had bothered to bring them down but not add to them, weird. Oh well, nowt so strange as folk!

That would be good too WhatToDo as I'd happily interact with others if there was a way to do so. I don't know anyone else that plays IRL

I heard similar that it's one of each type in the gym. And feeding them a new berry every so often to keep them in there. Although not convinced that'll stop spoofers as they could spoof over there with the berry.

Meanwhile I've got enough Houndour candy now and enough Cynquadil for all the evolutions. I've not got any wonders though. Just 'caught my attention' ones. Hoping I get a wonder before the end of the event. I'm rubbish at waiting to evolve!

I do hoard candy though and do mass evolves when there's a double xp event on which kinda balances it out.

I never evolve on the spot. I always wait until the end of the event to make sure I have the best Pokemon possible. I'd hate to evolve only to find a better one!

AbbeyRoadCrossing Yeah, they do want to encourage people to interact however they will have to tread VERY carefully because lots of kids play the game and they don't want to get in sticky waters with them interacting with strangers.

I was thinking that the interacting with strangers bit could be dodgy ground. Will have to wait and see what they come up with I suppose.

I find it hard to resist evolving any new ones to my dex Dame. I'm waiting until the event ends though. Just about managing to wait so far

I am led by dd though as we share an account, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it!

They will have to be very careful how they proceed, encouraging kids to get out is great, encouraging kids to meet strangers is a no no.

My dc is beside themselves if we don't immediately evolve new Pokemon! I've got enough candy now for more ninetales, houndoom and arcanine anyway, it would be lucky to get another typhlosion or charizard but you never know.

I'd love a fighting type event. I think I've less then 10 catches/hatches out of over 2000 that are fighting types.
