Ark?

My 10yo son wants this game for his ps4. Apparently 'all' his friends have it despite it being rated 16. Having looked at reviews online, lots of people are saying that it pretty tame and their primary school aged kids are OK with it. I just wanted to canvas the opinion of mumsnetters though. Can any of you offer any advice? Tia

16? I thought it was a 12. DS (9) plays it at his dad's but I can only trust that it is suitable because I don't play computer games. He doesn't have a great track record with suitable games (letting his 11 year old play call of duty) but this one does sound ok. There's an element of online play with others. I don't know if that is with strangers or friends.

It is definitely 16. Usually with online play you can just invite your friends to join - that's what he does on minecraft anyway. I'll look into that. Thanks

This is a really useful site for knowing about specific games. It helps you to relate them to your specific child. Will your son be OK with killing animals? Will he play cooperatively with his friends, or competitively?

People build camps and create stuff and it's very much a clan based and play with others game. But people can then raid each other's stuff and steal it. Personally I don't like games like this, potentially upsetting.
