Is anybody else looking forward to playing Breath of the Wild on Friday? I haven't looked on youtube as I don't want to spoil it by watching someone else playing it first.
I have warmed up by playing A Link Between Worlds but finished that earlier than expected.

Oh, man, a foray into the castle?! That's awesome! I've tamed my first guardian, and almost ready to attempt a second, but still so very much to explore. I'm feeling very proud of myself today for completing the major test of strength shrine 😁

JigglyTuff · 20/03/2017 19:14

DS went into the castle yesterday. He lasted about 2 minutes against Ganon Grin

I've done my first divine beast (gorons) and about to tackle the Zora one. Boss fights are easy with the master sword but that doesn't help with the puzzles and actually getting to the beast!

I'm absolutely loving it. I thought about taking the switch on the train to work today Blush

MrsGWay · 21/03/2017 12:11

Beating a major test of strength is very impressive.

Yesterday I decided to revisit an area that I struggled with when I first found it. Although I narrowly missed out again it showed me the brilliance of this game. How the players experiences strengthen Link. Sorry for being vague but I don't want to post spoilers.
Today I decided to go for it and have just beaten Ganon! I've still got 6 memories to find, 62 shrines and lots of side quests to do before I finish it again.

I have taken the Switch out and about, makes children's swimming lessons fly by!

Wow, well done MrsG! That's awesome! And Jiggly, I'm shrine seeking so I can get the Master Sword, you've inspired me to do that before my next divine beast. Although I could actually go to either the Goron or Geruda one, equally close to both. Cause of shrine seeking. I've fallen behind thanks to a miserable cold I'm now getting over, but it stopped me playing for 3 whole days. Most put out about that. How many heart containers can you actually get? I got my 11th last night and it didn't go into a new line - I'm used to 10 hearts in a row! What kind of voodoo magic is this? May be slightly delirious after cold still.

I'm planning to take the switch out tomorrow for the first time. I'm glad it makes the time fly! Don't yet have to sit while ds does a class but good to know it's usefulness!

JigglyTuff · 23/03/2017 09:43

Well done MrsGWay!

DS has done 3 out of 4 Divine Beasts and I've done 2.

I don't know how many HC you can get in total - there are over 100 shrines I think. 15 hearts before you go onto the 2nd line :)

Ashvis · 25/03/2017 08:09

15 hearts?! On one line?! Amazing. I've 11 now, one more shrine before I get 12, but enjoying doing side quests and general exploring. Got the full map of Hyrule yesterday so feeling pretty happy about that. I want all the armour too, especially the guardian armour before attempting the castle! Too many guardians around there. I finished the Tarry Town quest line - that was lovely! And I want to move to Lurelin Village.

How many fairy fountains have you guys unlocked? I've done 3, and given how Link reacts when getting his third armour upgrade, I'm not really sure I want to go for the 4th! Think it takes a lot of money to unlock the 4th anyway 😬

MrsGWay · 31/03/2017 15:14

I have spent the last week completing quests I had already started and now feel quite sad that the game is coming to an end for me. I am still finding new areas but have found all the memories and 100 shrine orbs.

I am planning on finishing the main quest again this weekend to see the credits with all memories.

Now I just need to lose my memories so I can play this again! From reading review scores once the embargo lifted on the 2nd March to now it has been a great Zelda month for me (and I only got online help with one shrine quest). The hype was justified!

Hope everyone else has enjoyed this as much as me and the next Zelda game doesn't take as long in development!

MrsGWay, that's exactly why I hate finishing games! I enjoy being part of the world, don't want it to be over. It's why I played The Witcher 3 through 3 times, I wasn't done with the world. And it's why I've still only completed one Divine Beast 😬

I've collected all the memories though, loads of side quests, lots of general adventures, killing Hinox and Lynel, and got scales from all 3 dragons for the springs. Need to do more shrines though, after getting the Master Sword I don't feel the desperate need to anymore, but I do still want more stamina/hearts. Definitely planning a replay when I'm done.

My lovely BIL texted me last night to say that on a whim he's bought a switch and Zelda. Never owned a Nintendo of any kind before, but wanted to see what all the hype was about. He didn't contact me after opening it so I suspect he's hooked. Fairly sure he'd have complained to me it wasn't living up to expectations!

Dogsmom · 14/05/2017 18:58

I'm practically at the beginning of Zelda, I've done the original plateau and got to the Zora's village and now got to collect shock arrows to do the first divine beast, I love the exploring and puzzle solving but I really hate how much combat is in it, I feel like I'm having to kill something every 3 minutes and it's so distracting, I know I could sneak past a lot of them but by doing that it stops me getting to chests and weapons etc.
I think it's a huge downfall of the game, if I wanted a fighting game I would've bought one Sad

I'm currently trying to kill a huge lynel on a horse to get the arrows and am spending 90% of my time waiting for the game to load again after being killed with one swipe.

user1494818632 · 15/05/2017 04:38

I bought sky3ds plus and n2 elite in www.digibay.es to play both 3ds games and nintendo switch games of zelda.

Ashvis · 15/05/2017 07:51

Lynels are bloody hard! I didn't do that one before the divine beast because I had enough shock arrows already. If you like, you can go buy them instead, you don't have to defeat the Lynel before starting the beast.

MrsGWay · 18/05/2017 11:16

I finished my last shrine today, after weeks of fruitless hunting I gave in and looked at a map to find them. I would've been OK if the tracker had been activated as I naturally avoid some areas (Eldin and Gerudo Highlands).

I have yet to kill a lynel Blush as I am rubbish at combat. I have watched many lynels being killed on youtube but struggle even though there is a pattern to them.

Has anyone actually finished the Minish Cap? I cannot defeat the final boss.

You've been super busy MrsG! I've done 101 shrines now, hadn't imagined I'd complete them all but I've come so far, I want to finish them now! Only one divine beast left, but I don't want to finish the game so I'm proper stalling. May start korok seed hunting instead! Looking forward to the DLC though.

I've killed a few lynels. They are tough as nails. The only way to do it is get the strongest weapons you can, and a bunch of food with extra hearts, better defense and attack power benefits and be prepared to die quite a lot. I've just got my last piece of barbarian armour so hoping that the increased attack with that might help.

I have completed Minish Cap but it was a very long time ago. Kinda want to play it again though.

MrsGWay · 19/05/2017 20:30

Lucky you! I can still play as I haven't finished all the quests and still have over 600 korok seeds to get. I'm looking forward to the DLC too.

Now I don't think this game was as hard as others. I spent hours on the Oracle games not knowing what to do next as I couldn't remember the map especially as it changed with the seasons. It wasn't so easy to get help on the internet then! Also the cooking means unlimited hearts for combat, I just need that for the final Minish Cap fight.

Dogsmom · 19/05/2017 22:23

I'm still plodding through and trying to avoid big enemies, I don't think my reflexes are fast enough!

I doubt I'll get the DLC as a big part of it is killing 45 rooms full of monsters Shock

I'm really enjoying just exploring, I've come across a few things that are mini puzzles of some sort so am marking them on the map and going back if I run out of things to do.

Any tips on killing the electric wizards that float around? I've found a tower that I need to climb but it's being guarded by them.

MrsGWay · 24/05/2017 16:46

Keep on top of all available upgrades is my advice.

OP posts:
Dogsmom · 12/07/2017 21:33

Is anyone still playing it?

I've literally just killed Ganon (on my first attempt!) and am really disappointed in what happens afterwards.

SPOILER ALERT- DON'T READ UNLESS YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S AFTER GANON.

I thought I'd be able to explore and puzzle solve with no monsters but just put me back to the pre Ganon save and I now have a star next to the save, it says I've only done 20.64% so there's plenty to do, it puts me off playing now as there's no aim, even if I do all the quests/trials/shrines/seeds I'll have to redo Ganon and be in the same boat, a thoroughly rubbish ending to an excellent game.

MrsGWay · 24/07/2017 11:30

Have you played a Zelda game before? This is what happens in all of them and to be honest most other games. I know what you mean but all games come to an end, plus in this one it would get boring very quickly with no monsters.

Have you paid for the DLC? There is more coming this Christmas.
