Wii u or Xbox

Hi there. Any advice please. My daughter wanted an Xbox but I persuaded her that wii u might be better for more kid friendly games. Since found out that they will stop production of the wii u so very unsure now. To be honest I'm not that keen on getting either but it's the only thing she has asked for so difficult one. She's 6. Great on I pad but only really played with a console at her friends house. Do I stick to wii even though it might not have such a long shelf life? Thanks so much.

I would go for an xbox. No one my 6 year old knows has a Wii U. The xbox games they play are the talk of the playground. There are many xbox one games suitable for kids but most you have to download rather than buy in the shop so it may not seem that way when you are browsing in the shops. Also xbox one can now play most xbox 360 games and there are loads of kids games for that.

I've got both and for her age I'd definitely get the Wii U even if they are stopping production. Loads more games and it can be great fun as a family. We play Mario Kart, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Party etc together and have a laugh.

I wouldn't get either at the moment. The Nintendo switch is coming out soon and that may be a better option.

Nintendo consoles tend to have more kid friendly games, but then Xbox has more variety to choose from.

Wii U for sure. DS has had one since he was 6 (age8 now) and absolutely loves it.
He would like an xbox but that gives us 'room for movement' if you know what I mean. We'll probably get him one either for his next bday or xmas.
