Found an interesting article about this new virtual reality craze and was wondering if I should get my son the Playstation VR for Christmas as he already has a Playstation 4? Anyone tried it out yet?

Can't keep up with all this new technology!

How old is he? Sony recommend that their VR system is only used by people over the age of 12. Most other systems have similar recommendations, in fact I think it's generally 13+. You also need quite a substantial space (entirely clear of furniture) to play in unless you only play "sit down" games which don't require any movement.

The technology is still very much in its infancy and although it's quite fun its quite a way from perfect. The headsets are quite heavy and unwieldy to wear, your eyes do get tired quite quickly (you need to ease yourself in gradually) and definitely don't use it if you get motion sickness!! Neither DH nor I do at all but we can still feel a bit off if we play a high motion game for too long.

As the tech is right now I wouldn't bother, it's fun in small doses but it's not quite there yet as mainstream gaming tech.
