Will one of you lot start the next thread when it gets to about 970ish posts. I'm going to get moaned at again, I can feel it in me water.

Argh! I just did the school run and up popped a Christmas Pikachu! Alas the game glitched out and it disappeared, so no festive 'mon for me.

I did take the gym this morning though so I may be about to get my first consecutive gym coins and my first double coins, in about 25 mins.

Not much around here!

Can I ask how you buddy walkers manage to earn much when the battery life on my phone is sucked dry by Pokemon Go within an hour or so? (and yes, I have it on battery saver). Took the phone in to have a battery check and of course Apple say it's fine so it must be the App... hmmm....

Jane power packs are your friend!
I always have a fully charged one in my bag for pokemoning, I leave my phone plugged into it otherwise it really does flatten your battery.

I just saw a truck driver with a giant pikachu wearing a christmas hat in a seat next to him :D

I've just run out in the rain with mine and dh's phones, to grab a festive pikachu at our local train station. I was rewarded with a higher cp pikachu than dh (28 vs 373) It was my 2nd pikachu, and the first I've caught in the wild, first one I got by hatching.
Do you think if I put it in the gym, it would fight with it's christmas hat on?

Took down a local level 3 gym, put both myself and daughter in and grabbed the coins. Then, thanks to the new nearby screen, I was able to detour on the way to the shops and get a festive Pikachu for me and the kids. Then came out of the shop to a Dratini. Good morning. :)

And yes, Jane, a power pack is essential. I bet the power pack manufacturers are making more out of this game than Niantic!

Am I right in thinking that new eggs are at the top of your egg screen?

Enid, it's the first one I've seen near my house. I didn't get my first Pikachu until I was about level 21/22, I think they must have released some more in the run up to Christmas.

I have just done school run and took dog for a massive walk and not a whiff of a festive pikachew! No new eggs out of pokestops either and I have two spaces.

I have had a relatively good few days. Last night whilst watching TV i idly flicked onto the Pokemon app to see what was around. I saw a shadow of a Snorlax so i shoved on my wellies, grabbed a torch and shuffled off in the dark to the best bit of the golf course for catching Pokemon - and there he was. He wasn’t even too hard to catch.

This morning i caught a Dratini which will go a little way to getting candies to evolve my Dragonair to Dragonite. I currently have Dratini as my buddy and am at 81 candies. I saw a Christmas Pikachu on my sightings but didn’t come across it but at least i know there are some around here. I hope to get one when i venture into town this afternoon.

Apart from the new ones i still need more Kabuto for evolving and an Aerodactyl. I have never even had a sniff of an Aerodactyl. Currently at 141 in my Pokedex.

I had crazy issues with battery before. Sadly it comes down to how New Yorkers phone is. The SE and 7 last ages because they have MUCH better battery life. Beyond that you've got to rely on power packs.

Not a problem I had too much on my old phone as I always just run out of poke balls anyway.

I caught a Christmas Pikachu in the same spot I caught a Ditto last week. My Pokedex doesn't have spaces for the baby Pokemon yet.

Yes I never go out without the power pack. Still holding 10 gyms - it's definitely stagnating again since the prestige changes.

I got an Aerodactyl last week from a 10k egg. First 10k I've had since the Halloween event. I've only ever had one dratini, months ago, and it's too weak to be worth doing anything with.

My current buddy is Koffing, one candy away from an evolution there.

I'm always struggling on balls. There's a cluster of pokestops near my house so I can walk that loop when DS is in nursery a few days per week. I used to be able to stock up well, but the spawn rates and their variety went up so I tend to end up using what I gain too easily.

I had santachu on sightings when I was miles away from the pokestop- just got the other side of the park from it when it despawned

Have they reduced the speed limits even more? The bus I am on is barely moving andbyet I keep being told to try later.

I need to visit my local park, it seems to be a kabuto nest.

Dilute try juggling your phone about. The app uses a combo of your speed and the pedometer I. Your phone to work out if you're on foot.

I also travel by bus and heard this tip online. Thought it was balls but I've done it and it definitely increases the speed at which I can travel before it 'cuts me off'

I also sit and tap the phone gently against my hand (to mimic steps) if I'm a passenger in a slow vehicle. I wasn't getting any stops without this trick

Does anybody else praise their buddy when they find candy? I've been walking with my Dragonair, named Sylvie by ds, for about 200 km, only another 85 to go until we can evolve a Dragonite, and everytime the message "Dragonair found a candy" pops up I say in my best talking to a todler voice "Oh, well done Sylvie!"

So with a bank of 5K eggs how do I know which are the newer ones?

Igneo I say "good boy, magicarp" when he finds a candy.

I got a 10km egg!!!! Beyond excited. It better be something good.
