Well, we've visited some iffy parks, in our quest to hit a few nests, eah weekend, but today was a new low. Bulbasaur nest right by a busy town centre. So we get off the bus outside markses, walk through the underpass to get to the other side of the, walk past the empty commercial building and turn into the side street where the entrance to this park is. Already, it looks a bit seedy. A couple park up near us in an old Ford Focus and the guy driving gets out, dodges into a Ginnel beside a takeaway and proceeds to loudly throw up.
So, moving swiftly on, we get into the park, find a couple of Bulbasaurs and a whole 2 pokestops, which the other people in the park are clearly only there for, too and decide we'd best leave by a different gate. We get to that gate to find a guy with a bottle of whiskey in his hand pissing against the railings.
We made our way back into the town centre to eat lunch and make use of some proper genuine loos, to find that our data kept glitching out and the app glitching.
Lunch was quite entertaining because there was a really good steel band in the market place and a old-ish woman who had just got off a coach, around the corner, so had piles of luggage was dancing along quite unself-consciously! both of us ended up re-starting our phones, though.
We hopped on a rather late running bus to the park further down from our first one. I put an incense on which disappeared, as my phone/data glitched again. That park was less hairy but we found one solitary omanyte. Enough for DS1 who didn't have any at all, but still disappointing. I had to restart a few times and, eventually, with about 12 seconds left, I got my incense showing!
I think we'll disregard the many Darlington parks, in the future, when it comes to chasing decent nests! I can't help but feel that we're more likely to get mugged than fill up our pokedex.
