Dd and her friends love minecraft.
One family have it on the ps4. If we got it on our PS3, can they play together, from different houses?

No it has to be the same which is really annoying.

I have asked our resident experts who have said that unfortunately because they have different systems they won't connect????. If they were same systems, eg 2 ps3 consoles you could x.

No, you'd need to be on the same platform (so PS4 to PS4, or Xbox 360 to Xbox 360, PS3 to PS3, Xbox ONE to Xbox ONE, etc).

The game is different on the older platforms. The newer ones can handle more detail and textures and features, so the older platforms get a downscaled version which isn't compatible with the "fuller" version.

Damn. Oh well, I'll just have to ship her off to their house to play ;)
