Xbox360 or WiiU game for two grown ups to play together?

DH and I tend to watch a lot of crap telly together in the evenings with too much wine. I thought if we invested in a good game we could play together we wouldn't do too much of either.

Any suggestions? We have an Xbox360 and a Wii (getting a WiiU for Xmas - well, DS is...)

I don't like violent ones much. He doesn't like anything too clever...

Strategy or adventure I guess?

We used to love to play Monkey Island on the PC many years ago.

Best couch co-op game I have played lately is Diablo III (xbox 360). Great fun.

Oh and get the Reaper of Souls edition. It has an additional content and the loot is better distributed to the players

Me and DP play these:

Borderlands
Resident Evil 5 & 6
Fable 3

The thing is with resident evil it's a little bit violent (its killing monsters mainly) and can be clever.
Fable 3 is adventure, you can play together in a basically sandbox environment
Borderlands is comic-book style adventure. it's not bloody or gorey and can be funny, completely reccommend that.

I found Fable 3 a bit dull and the world too industrial-looking. Fable 2 is gorgeous and brilliant.

Dh and I loved new Mario Bros Wii U and spent lots of nights playing it last Christmas.

It's probably not as sophisticated as the other games but it is 2 player and took us back to our childhood.

Portal 2

Portal 2 is excellent. I've played it many times now, although I admit to not completing it on co-op yet!

You can download Monkey Island you know, if you fancy playing it again! It's obviously not co-op, but it's been remastered for the xbox so looks great

I like the Lego games.

Mario Kart 8 is fantastic for Wii U.

Everyone should buy a Wii U, especially if they have younger children; the games are great! Excellent family console.
