I'm trying to sign up and it says there is an error

Have I done something wrong or is there an issue with them?

Is your play station connected to the internet via wifi? My brother had a chew on setting his up a few months ago, turned out it was the routers wifi settings blocking it for some reason.

I can text him in the morning to see what he did to sort it if it's any use to you?

Does it need an update?

You need to note the number of the error which should look like "Error [bunch of numbers, then a bunch of text]". Once you have the error and its number, you can google this to get a lay-person's explanation of the error. Quite often these are explained in techy threads, and there will be a fix for it as well.
