Help with ds

I was given a ds when they first came out and tbh - I never really used it. I totally forgot about it as I am not really into games. Roll on 10 years and two kids later I found it in the back of a drawer. I was thinking of giving it to my son 6 or daughter 10 -I didn't really have anything on it and now we have an iPad I don't know what they would make of it -any suggestions gratefully accepted.

which ds is it? ds, ds lite, dsi, etc? I think most games can be played on them apart from the 3D ones

It would probably be consider an antique by now Wink so the games might be more expensive than you think!

If it's the first generation then games after that won't be able to be played I wouldn't have thought.
