Clash of clans-anyone? Bastarding shield not working.

So been following the how to guide blah blah. But used gems to set up a 5 day shield while I built.I'm still getting raided, then as you then get more shield, I can't revenge without blowing my shield. So every time I get something it goes. The forum says this can't happen. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried posting on the forum yourself or are you reading other people's threads? Is it possible you broke shield accidentally?
