So how do you find other farmers? I only have Greg.

How do I find wooden planks and screws? My silo is full and I can't do anything.

Exit is your game connected to game centre? If so, you can add friends through there. I am AOAML_MN.

Exit, when I started playing HD, I forgot I was on Game Centre. What I did was visit farms in the paper and bookmark them - there's a sort of tag next to the farm name top centre when you're at their farm. You can do that quite a few times, maybe 5? Enough to start you off anyway, u til you can collect Mn ids etc. They appear next to Greg.

You can make a fake fb account and use that for gaming.

Game Centre is an iPad thing. If you're using iPad or iPhones then you'll have Game Centre installed. Just open it and set up an id. Then use the friends bit to start sending out requests to people's GC ids.

Anyway, if you (or anyone else here) would like to be my friend my GC id is Joolyer, farm name Jux's Farm, fake fb is Jux Lux (profile pic is of a lemon tree, so close up of green leaves with yellow blobs). I don't go on fb much though, so do it through the game.

Lots of the experienced posters are not on this thread because they are so addicted to Hayday they are neglecting MN

ZingWhale You don't need FB or GC to join the quiche. It's a neighbourhood. You need to be level 29 and then you ask to join. There are 3, numbers 2 and 3 started when the first became full as they only let 30 people join.
Exit if you tell us your GC NN we can ask you to be a friend? If you have run out of anything use the paper to buy some more. The best thing about having lots of friends is that you can search their shops and it gives you more slots in your shop. If you go back a page on this thread there is a list of GC names, just send friend requests to as many as possible. I have about 40 (more than RL).

ZingWhale Growing wheat gives you free planks and bolts and other precious building stuff. So there is a thing called "wheating" where you grow tons of it to get the goodies. It soon fills the silo so to get rid people sell it for 1 coin. Not because they are daft.
I buy cheap wheat and sell it on to the visitors. Also it frees up land for more valuable crops.

Apologies if I'm being stupid but red box hunting isn't working for me can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? They keep asking me for 3 diamonds to open!

The red boxes usually 'cost' 3 diamonds - the occasional one is free.

There is some fancy way of closing the game without losing the box, so you can try again on re-opening the game. If you do that enough times, eventually it will let you get to its contents for nuffing. This method does not seem to work on my idiotPhone…

yes, I know about "wheating" and the free stuff it gives.
I just call them tools, because that's what you get off them - but not in the sense that they are daft! no offense meant with that, sorry if you took it that way.

but selling precious stuff really cheaply puzzles me - and yes, I think that's foolish. (or probably just something they haven't realised yet)

Anyway, it's only my terminology and me being silly.

but what you say makes sense - a red box once did open up on it's own with 5 diamonds inside.
I tapped it and saw them flying by, but it was the precise moment WiFi decided to cut out.
after reconnection I found the box in exact same place, but it was firmly "locked".

I sell a lot of my stuff at low prices cos I want rid of it. I've got more coins than I can spend just now so would rather clear space in my barn and shop so selling stuff at low prices does that

It all depends on what your priorities are in the game. Earning money isn't a priority for me

Yes you can open with 3 diamonds and quit the game if you don't want the contents.

Or do it this way. Which is beyond tedious but works. It won't work on your farm.
Go to a friend's farm by clicking on the icon in the friend's list.If you haven't any friends go to "recent helpers".
Find and click on the red box.
Do not open it.
Click on the friend's farm icon again - you are really refreshing the page by doing this.
Click on the red box.
Repeat.
Sometimes it takes 7 or 8 goes but eventually it will open for free.

At the risk of stating the obvious, do you all know to visit Greg's farm once a day?
He will have a few very cheap things for you in the shop and a free red box.
