PSP 3000 - Any Good?

Thinking of getting one for DS for Christmas - he has mastered the Wii and has a DS (old stylee) but XH is getting DD a itouch/iphone thingy and thought maybe if DS has a new video game thing would halt ructions when she brings her new fangled phone thing home.

Anyway - the wheres and whyfors are beside the point - are they any good?

PSP is dead mate, the DS blow it out the water, fuck all games on the thing.

PSP2 is going to be out next year (knowing Sony it will probably be the year after here) with a bigger screen, a touch pad on the back, two analog sticks and a different media type for the games most likely downloads only like the PSP Go(sounds rubbish to me I will not be buying one).

Stick with the DS, 3DS next year with Starfox and Kid Icarus, PSP2 doesn't stand a chance, especially when it seems Sony still don't have a clue about what makes a good handheld.
