Didn’t know this was a thing! Generally despise fake meat but black pudding is something I particularly miss from my previous long ago carnivorous life.

Sorry, not much use to you but watching with interest.

I've found it before in very big branches of Tesco. DS (Veggie) loves it.

WeAreTheHeroes · 18/12/2022 16:42

Asda sell it according to my quick search.

NewToWoo · 18/12/2022 16:43

And Sainsbury's do the Simon Howie pre-sliced version

stilldumdedumming · 18/12/2022 16:43

I've got it in Asda but not recently- although we don't have a big one near us.

Sleepysailor · 18/12/2022 16:44

No idea by why would to you want to eat something that resembles meat in any shape or form?

beastlyslumber · 18/12/2022 16:47

It's blood! How do they fake blood? What the hell is it made of?

Tubbyinthehottub · 18/12/2022 16:49

Big Asda. It's nice, doesn't resemble meat at all. It's a nice tasty beany oaty thing. No idea what original black pudding is like.

Vegetarian haggis is similar and really really nice. I think you can get it in a tin. Not quite the same but has the same savoury oaty flavours.

Perhaps I was thinking of this?

I'm not a fan of fake meat, but looking to add some texture to a vegan breakfast and thought this might be crispier than fake sausage or bacon.

I've seen recipes that use oats, beetroot and spices so think it could be quite tasty

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

Our local / high street health food shops have it, but I’m in Scotland and is quite popular here. It’s nothing like meat, just salty, peppery and tasty! Tofooo smoked tofu (extra firm) is also really good sliced and shalllow fried / baked with a little oil. It goes crispy and keeps its shape well.

It's blood pudding. It's really delicious.
