Product recall due to fish in product!

I have had an email about a product recall for something I bought from Waitrose.
It is a vegan product, they say it may have fish in it! I have been vegan for twenty years and I feel quite sick as I've eaten the product for lunch for the last three days. Is there anything else I can do other than just get a refund?

Focus on the word "may"
Remember they are being ultra cautious and are recalling the product not because it has fish in but because they don't have a secure chain of evidence that it definitely doesn't.
The probability is that you haven't eaten fish. Certainly you wouldn't be able to prove that you have. So, try not to overthink and accept that while you will never completely know, it is most probable that there was none actually in there.

So you're asking for compensation, for something that didn't cause you harm and likely didn't happen at all? LOL.

I frequently buy vegetarian or vegan food as I assume it does not have fish or fish products in. So, to those who are saying the op should get over herself, would you mind my husband coming on here asking for advice on how to cope without me? Because if I had eaten the item, I would have died!

The OP is right to want to do more than have them issue a recall, until companies are held to account they will not change.

The word "may" could be being used to downplay the issue. If they feel fish has got into the production line then it will have affected 1000s of products before the issue was raised.
