Where do you buy your tofu?

I am a big fan of tofu, but I find it quite hard to find fresh, plain tofu. The only one that is easy to get is the Tofoo brand one, which is pretty good, although I have had nicer.

I am also aware of the Taifun brand tofu, but all the shops near me that stock it only stock the flavoured ones (which I don’t like), which suggests to me that most people don’t like plain tofu...

I did buy a really great one from Wholefoods (can’t remember the brand) which was really nice.

Chinese or Vietnamese shops? It’s good value and often made locally. I like tofoo when they brought it out it was the only tofu made entirely in the Uk I think.

I buy mine from a Korean or Vietnamese supermarket, there's a massive multipack fridge full of different types/brands which are plain.

We’ve got an Asian supermarket near but if I can’t get there I’ll get Cauldron brand from Sainsbury’s. I like it as it’s plain and really firm so easy to marinate etc

Thanks - I actually have an Asian grocery shop near me so will try there.

I used to go to the Chinese supermarket. They did a variety including firm tofu which will be more similar to the tofoo stuff you mentioned. It was pretty cheap there too, like a £1.30 a block. I’ve not been in ages as developed an aversion to tofu in pregnancy lol 😬
