Quorn poisoning?

Hi guys,

So I have been a vegetarian for a few years now. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Quorn products. Sometimes they make me quite bloated or gassy, sometimes no negative effect at all.

However! On Thursday night I had Quorn Chipotle goujons. I believe they are new as I haven't seen them in supermarkets before.

Yesterday I spent the day with severe stomach cramps and an extremely low mood. Today I have had the nastiest diarrhoea I have had in years - since before I was veggie (food poisoning from a chicken burrito in London!!)

So that's 36 plus hours of symptoms which have only just started to level out

My question is - is it possible the Quorn could have caused this? Has anyone else had this sort of reaction from a Quorn product?

P.S when I say diarrhoea, I don't use the term lightly for dramatic effect, I mean violent bowl painting spray, at one point it sounded like the toilet was flushing however it was my rear end EXPLODING

If you haven't eaten quorn in a while I think that's what has caused it. I don't really like to eat it as it does the same thing to me! But I used to eat it all the time and have no negative effects at all, so I think it's because my body isn't used to it anymore.

Haha, no he's 12 years old and I e just got the one child! Grin he's not been bothered by any of the other Quorn products so hopefully these will be ok. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Quorn makes me throw up within a couple of hours of eating it. Bit of a bummer as I'm a veggie!

The packaging states that some people can have an intolerance to quorn.....

I have that reaction. I was gutted as we all had some degree of bad bellies and squits who ate it. I had to chuck a load out.

Not an experience I want to repeat.

After 18 months of eating Quorn with no problems I've recently started getting awful stomach cramps about two hours after eating it. Sad

Quorn is made of evil. Every time I've eaten it, the reaction has got worse so now I wont go anywhere near the stuff
