Iceland vegan range

Just had one of the melt in the middle chocolate puds (£2 for 2)

Bought two vegan pizzas £2 each, 2 types - if they're anywhere near as nice as the puds are, I'm on to a winner. The only vegan pizza I currently like is the M&S one and it's small and pricey.

Has anyone else tried the Iceland range? Vegan convenience food can be expensive (hell, even a jar of pesto is £2.50 compared to the same non vegan jar, which is £1), so excited about this as my new weekend treats.

I'll go looking today for some bits - gutted as my local M&S closed and this week the M&S garage stopped stocking the Vegan stuff!

Oh that's annoying Hands. Good luck on your quest Grin

Thanks. I made it to Sainsbury's and bought a Vegan Garden Pizza (£3.75) as my Saturday night treat, which I did not enjoy.

Instead of paying £2.50 for a Moo Bar, I bought a Sainsbury's Free From milk chocolate bar. I had one square - tasted like cheap cooking chocolate. Wish I'd invested in the Moo.

Finally, I had the M&S Plant Kitchen chocolate mousse pot (£1.85) and was very happy!

If you’re looking for good vegan chocolate, try Vego. It’s made with hazelnuts so tastes a bit like Nutella.

WRT chocolate, I really liked milk and didn’t enjoy dark, until I went on a low carb diet, and now dark (90%) chocolate is the only thing.

Where do you get vegan pesto from?

HandsOffMyRights · 18/05/2019 20:53

Thanks - I love Nutella!

The Rhythm 108 bars are the best vegan ‘milk’ chocolate I’ve had in years. My local
park cafe has just started selling them...

HandsOffMyRights · 18/05/2019 21:28

I'll have to Google where to find them thanks

Vegan pesto is sold in shops like Planet Organic as is good vegan chocolate. I hate Nutella so wouldn't like any chocolate made with hazelnuts (it's made mainly with sugar anyway) they might have waved a few nuts over it Grin

I do buy vegan pesto but it's £2.50 and the same non vegan brand is 99p!

Need to find a specialist vegan store I think. I 'd been like a kid in a sweet shop - albeit an animal free one!

For milk chocolate, try ombar coco mylk chocolate. I'm not even vegan but I'm obsessed, it's just genuinely lovely chocolate

Hands I never compare prices with normal supermarkets ( or with non vegan products) , they can afford to buy the non vegan stuff in enormous amounts and hold their producers to ransom, not a lot of fair trade goes on there, it's probably cheaper to make your own pesto.. Grow a big pot of basil in your garden, and pad it out with other herbs like parsley.

Sainsbo's shroomdog sausages are lovely and so are their spicy vegan burgers from the freezer.

Yes to the Alpro puddings.
