Anyone a vegan and on a diet ?

I need to loose another two stone. I've already lost one stone over a few months but have hit a weight and it's deadlined. I'm not sure what else I can do ? Any advice and recommendations?

I can't really exercise due to having M.E. I have been vegan a long time but after a few mental issues and birth of baby I put on a lot of weight.

Thanks everyone

IveGotAlpen your current meals might just need some tweaking. When you make bean chilli for example, how much chopped veg is in it? Or do you have veg/salad on the side? When I make bean chilli, it's pretty much just beans and lentils. So I'd try to have salad/veg on approx half of my plate, a quarter chilli, a quarter rice. I'd quite happily just eat the chilli and rice (and a lot of it), but making myself eat the salad each time stops me overeating (as there is only so much salad I can stomach)

@Fiontar649 hiya my chilli example is courgette , peppers, onion, aubergine and lentils and mixed beans and I make my own sauce out of tin tomatoes and spices. So plenty of the good stuff.

I am going to half the portion and add salad upon your recommendation :)

Not sure I really did help, but good luck anyway Grin

@PurpleDaisies that's what my brother is finding!! A whole pack of Oreos in one sitting is still a whole pack of biscuits regardless if they are vegan Blush

If you haven't already, have a look at Viva!'s webpage, there's loads of info on the 5:2 Vegan diet.

I’m starting a diet today as I have a stone to shift, I’m small and very small boned think little child like wrists, arms and ankles. All my weight is on my bum and things, I think I look ridiculous.

Anyway cutting on the junk and sticking to 1300 cals a day, trying to up water as well.

IveGotAlpen · 08/04/2019 18:11

I've downloaded my fitness pal and I want to loose 2 pounds per week !

Calorie intake is 1,300 ! I can do this !!!!

Have a look at the Kim Beach vegan plan on FB. I bought it two years ago before I got pregnant and it was brilliant plus I knew that I was still getting all the nutrients that I needed. I am about to start it again (after Easter 😂).
There is an upfront payment but I thought that it was better than Weight Watchers or Slimming World etc. There is also an app now too.
May be worth looking at. I didn't feel at all hungry when I did it but it did take a little more organisation.

I’ve been looking st my TDEE and I’m going for 1400 calories a day and not counting any exercise calories.

I have fibromyalgia, sciatica and pelvic pain so any high impact stuff is out. Trying to walk the dog for an hour a day and have started a new yoga class.

katherinejones · 14/05/2019 17:41

why don't you try low in calories vegan food and snacks? I also started to eat them more, and lost couple of kgs. My recommendation would be zero noodles, seaweeds and red dates.

IveGotAlpen · 23/05/2019 15:31

Checking in everyone with an update .

I cut my calories to 1500, then to 1200 .

I am going to have a little brag but I have now lost one stone and 6 pounds :) I can't believe I'm getting there and I feel great.

Here's some pics of the kind of things I've been eating !

Thanks everyone :)

Hi thank you for all the replies sorry only just catching up!

I just had a (big) paycut so thats why im going through any books i have at home and picking vegan ones out rather then buying more.

I think things like lentils and potaoes will be my best bet as they are filling - espcially in the colder weather - I cant face too much salad type food ...!

I did think soup would be good - does anyone make it at home? Thanks again

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2019 15:26

SM87 Yes and it's easy I use a large solid saucepan and gently fry a chopped large onion plus mixed herbs and garlic in olive oil and a bit of your steaming water, you steam the veg. in a steamer, choose any you want to make your soup out of, root veg etc. and you use the water with yeast flakes (or a tabsp. of marmite as your stock) Keep an eye on the veg , don't overdo them. Then chop them and add to the onions with the stock cook until done. I use a hand held blender, `this is a recipe that you can design to suit your self.
