Derriford - Is it a good base for Eden Project etc..?

Cant find a decent cottage to rent so have opted for an Inn Keepers Lodge at Derriford to use as a base - is it near the sea/beach, good base do you think for exploring Deveon/Cornwall?

No it is not near sea!! It is on edge of Plymouth near the hospital and airport. take you about ten mins to get into Plymouth from there though.........it's just in the middle of residential plynouth if that makes sense?

Derriford. Isnt that where Plymouth hospital is. Its on the main road going out of Plymouth towards Tavistock. I guess it shouldnt take you too long to get out onto the moors from there by car. Still a long drive down to Eden Project. Traffic can be pretty bad going out of Plymouth. Beaches bigbury and Bantham South Devon Quite a way. Or you could go up to North Devon also Quite a long way
