Cornwall by public transport

Is it possible to do Cornwall by public transport and if so, where would be a good base please? Towns/hotel recs much appreciated.

Also - is Cornwall a decent place to take two teenage girls for a holiday?

There are loads of coaches that go to Newquay

Thank you both. Train would be good - think there's one direct from Birmingham to Penzance. Coach less good as I get travel sick (sorry - should have said). Is Penzance nice? Anything for teenagers?

Newquay is my home town and you can get the Penzance train and change at Par. As long as the weather is good the beaches are great, lots of nice walks, surf lessons, places to eat etc.

Have a look at www.visitcornwall.com lots of info there. Pictures always make me homesick. DP is Italian and I always tell him that Cornwall is more beautiful than where he's from, but he doesn't agree

Thank you. My dp still insists that Birmingham (where he was born) is the best place on earth, so I wouldn't judge your dp too harshly.

If I don't get any more replies, I will have to convince dp that Cornwall is no good for teenagers and that we must go to Greece or somewhere else warm instead!
