Holiday with 2 month old

Our first ds is due on 15th July, we have been considering going on holiday in UK in September. Is this a bit mad? A few people have told us will be ok, as they sleep so much.

If you think it would be ok, what sort of place would you look at going to - have considered Centre Parcs or a self-catering cottage in Cornwall so far. We will be going with my parents, so hopefully they might be able to help a bit!

What sort of things would you look for in self catering? Can just think of washing machine so far...

I think that as long as you are pretty ok physically then it is a great time to go but make sure you can cancel if you book anything now, for example after dd I was still pretty rubbish at 2 months due to an infection and wouldn't have wanted to go. I took ds to the Lakes though at 3 months and it was great. He did NOT sleep well at all but it was still great, we went on loads of walks with him in a sling and had a lovely, relaxing time. WE were self catering, had a washing machine etc. I certainly would not stay in a hotel!
