Okay, so, we have left it a little late to book, but hoping to get out of London this weekend.

What are good places to visit, about 1.5/2 hours outside of London, by train or car? Looked at Bath but pretty much everywhere there has been booked up. There are NO rooms.

So, now we're looking at New Forest - any other nice places?

Might be a bit further than you are looking for but a train to Bristol where there is @bristol museum and Brunels SS great britain plus bridge of course. Train from London is under 2 hours and you can get around on public transport easily enough.
