Hi,

DD and I going to watch DH in the London Marathon on Sunday and need some advice:

-travelling by air from Belfast so tips for first flight with DD (8months)
-where should we spectate on the marathon route for best chance of spotting DH? (accomodation is beside Regents Park)
-any other tips or advice for navigating London with a baby would be very gratefully received

Thanks,
Dervla

I would suggest Canary Wharf, last time i was there for the marathon it wasn't that busy. The wharf itself is very pram/ wheelchair friendly with prams and lifts, there is baby changing and places to eat, you can't move for starbucks, pret etc.

The marathon runs down both sides of canary wharf, so if you plan it right you should be able to see them twice.

The one time we went we then headed from Canary Wharf to Westminster and were able to meet our friend as they finished

If you look on the marathon website you can see where the not-so-busy point are, and there are several places where you can see the runners pass by twice.

My tip is to get to your place early, and to have an idea at what time your DH will pass (you can work this out by his estimated time and then looking at the marathon website).

I'd get as much onfo as you can from the web, it really is useful guide. And when you meet your DH at the end, it will be really busy, so be sure to agree what letter you will meet under!
Hope you have a great time. It's an amazing atmosphere on marathon day!
