Nearest A&E hospital is the Friarage at North Allerton. Darlington also has A&E.

Other thins to do in the area

  • the Hawes Creamery (Where they make Wensleydale cheese)
  • Richmond castle
  • Richmond river walk is lovely and perfect for pushchairs, plus they have some great playgrounds in Richmond. One near the falls, and one near the top of town near the coop and doctors surgery.
  • if it is nice, you could just picnic in the park by the river at Richmond, in the summer loads of families spend all afternoon there. The town is nice for a wander around too and there is a town trail you could do which is short and interesting.
  • James Heriot museum
  • Masham has a lovely river walk and a good playground. It also has delicious food at the Black Sheep brewery and children are welcomed there.
  • The Shawl is an exposed playground just at the top end of Leyburn but the walks from there are not as good for little ones.
  • Climbing Pen Hill is very achievable (especially if you park on the roadside half way up!) and gives you lovely views over Wensleydale.
