We are thinking of going on holiday to Jersey this summer but I don't know where to start! Can anyone recommend any fab self catering cottages/appartments - we have a 4 and a 2 1/2 yr old.

Thanks

I can HIGHLY reccomend Jersey but have only ever been B&B so no help there, sorry. But I must, must MUST urge you to check out the Jersey Pass cos it can save you a bundle!

Best attractions...
Durrell Wildlife
Living Legend
Mont Orgueil
Elizabeth Castle
Aquasplash
aMaizin Adventure Park
Jersey Museum (especially the nursey room!)
La Mare Wine Estate (though this is best minus kids...wine tasting)

Best place to look for accomodation is Jersey.com. Here's a link to the self catering section...
www.jersey.com/English/Accommodation/Pages/default.aspx

Staying in St Helier is a great idea if you're using public transport (Buy myExplorer tickets to save £££) but if you have transport or are hiring a car then I would choose out of town as St Helier, though lovely, is busy and has some very narrow streets/pavements.

Oh and you must, must MUST try Black Butter (it's nicer than it sounds and it's not butter!) and Jersey cream tea's (top 3 are La Mare Wine Estate, La Frigate Cafe St Helier and Jersey Lavender Farm)...HEAVEN!!!

ooo i can! We went last year and we found some lovely self catering appartments - very clean and excellent little play/ bq area and not far from airport but not to close either. Will link boscobel appartments very nice.

Ours were 2 and 6 when we went and we hired a car which was also v convenient for our accomadation too - we visited the lovely lovely beach at st brelades bay and ate alot of crab mmmmmmmmmm . We were blessed with the weather, had we not been i think we might have run out of things to do. It is lovely and we would love to go back.

have you booked? i actually rang up the company we went with and all they had available was tents for when we wanted to go so have plumped fort he isle of wight instead. We flew with flybee to jersey - they were very good for scarey small planes.

We honeymooned in Jersey - it is such a beautiful place. We stayed at The Revere Hotel - highly recommended and hired a car after flying in.

In other visits we have taken the ferry over and driven our own car around the island.

Lovely, lovely place.
